i know but i need to be able to drive my car. so im gonna try and pick up a used one than have mine rebuilt then sell the used one. Is it ok for me to drive with blown seals as long as i keep an eye on the oil level

you can ruin your 02 sensor

buy a new o2 and just continue ruining the one in there. then put the new one in with the new turbo

he puts his primary, secondary, and wideband in danger....im affraid the extra carbon running through the exhoust will just kill those sensors.

just checked on price as well, 160 a pop for OE sensors! Have you checked fastscions.com? they have turbo components sold separately there. Maybe something that will work out.

What is weird to me is that you see white smoke..

White smoke is usually coolant - not oil. A blown turbo that isn't water cooled will only leak oil - and oil being burned through the exhaust produces a bluish smoke.

Anyhow, I'm glad its only the turbo.

mabey i just couldnt tell. Like how blue would it be. If its just smoke with hint of blue than i probably couldnt tell the difference.

Light white smoke can be light amounts of oil burning in the exhaust.

Heavy amounts of oil will burn with a bluish tint.

Heavy white smoke is normally coolant but it is usually thick and dense when it is.

hmmm the shop i took it to said it was oil. Compression test was good so im thinking i just cant tell the difference between blue and white smoke

What Don was saying was that it could have been light amounts of oil - causing an almost white color.

Don't worry - the shop checked your motor and said it was fine.. slap on a new turbo and start kickin butt!
