Greddy Turbo Kit - any new info?
A friend of mine workd closely with a local authorized Greddy distributor/installer here in new england. They said they're getting lots of information about the new kit for the tC right now, and Greddy says they may be released in a few weeks.
Of course, the distributor also said to take this "three weeks" timeframe with a grain of salt and not to mark it on the calendar.
I'm waiting for a call back to see if they have any idea on price/specs.
Has anyone else heard any new information?

Nope this is the first i time i heard of anything about greddy hope it does come out cuz i would deff buy it when i save up. Keep us posted i wanna know hp gains and at what psi its running and what kind of engine managment it has. Thanks
Just to drop this ahead of time.... I have a pretty decent account with Greddy so I know I'll get these kits at cost.
If Greddy comes out with the kit, you can bet that I'll have it, and at a great price.

It doesn't sound like there is any "if" about these kits... "when" is the question.
I got a call back, and they still have no price/specs/other info except that they expect to have prices and specs as well as taking orders in two weeks. They say Greddy is in the final stages of testing.
Of course, two weeks is the magic time frame.. so I'm still a little skeptical, but I'll be skeptical until I take a trip to their facility and see the kits in person.
I will say, though, that the company this info is coming from is excellent. They're the only place within 1000 miles that I'd trust to do the install/tuning, so even eif the kit isn't released in exactly 14 days, I expect to get more info very very soon.

i saw the tC with it at SEMA back in november.... and one of the guys from Greddy told me that it wouldnt be released for a while cuz they still had some "bugs to work out"... but its deffinatly on its way
Greddy sent this message to me when i asked if a kit was out.
"Currently there is not confirmed release for the xB turbo kit.
We have been special ordering the Japanese bB turbo kit for some dealers, and it will work if you find a xB wiring diagram and match up the correct wires for the kit and retune the emanage. (bB has different ECU wiring)"

ur in the tc forum dude... so yea we are talking about tc not xb
well they are still not saying they will come out with it, having problems with the emisions, why did toyota have to try and make this car so low on emision rating, they cant do any mod's because of that,
(quote) Thanks for your interest in GReddy Products Currently there are no confirmed plans for a turbo kit for the tC. We are testing a vehicle, but have not decided yet if we will offer it or another type of forced induction kit. However we may release a something later this year. The location of the factory catalytic converter, makes it difficult to produce an emissions friendly bolt-on turbo kit.
Please keep in touch with your favorite Authorized Greddy dealer for more updates.

ok this whole GReddy thing is out of control. I just got off the phone with the people at the real Greddy in CA. They said the following:
18G Turbo
230HP at low boost (i assume he's talking around 6 PSI)
two options: w/FMIC and w/o FMIC
price: $3200-4000 depending on FMIC option and dealer location
release date: late 2005
hope this settles any problems or rumor stuff. thank you.

9 Vanderbilt, Irvine CA 92618
That's almost exactly down the street from me - I just gotta hop on Alton due east and after awhile I'll be there.
