ok here is the deal. most of you seen my set up and all have beean watching post on s/c reliablility. well over this past weekend coming back from norcal back to socal i noticed that my s/c was more noisey than usual. so i thought nothing of it till i got to work on monday to find oil all over my engine bay. well since i work at a dealer and was talking to trd im now basically screwd. upon opening the the s/c i found the coupling that holds the shaft to the charger, the screw backed out and caused the woodroff key to break and cause the seal inside to leak. im running the zpi pulley. and to make a long story short trd also cant and will not help me even if i work at toyota. so becareful with your set ups and if you want to get more power with the s/c expect the same like my self and highlandermac went through. as of right know i sent the s/c to be looked at by a friend to try and make my s/c stronger. ill keep you all posted.
You know it's funny how every single person that has a problem also changed a bunch of stuff on the car they weren't supposed to. Then they find out there was a "mistake" made during th installation but can't get warranty work done because of the things they changed. It's made clear before hand that you aren't going to be covered if you change the pulley so why are people so surprise when they can't get help?

i agree with you josh im just making it clear of what happens with tthe s/c if you start modding it. i was told already by the head of r&d at trd but i wanted to see how far i can puch the envelope. ive foward the pics to him and will have more info on what route i will be taking. Bob thanks again for all the info.
im tired of people blaming there s/c problems on the pulleys. Ive had my 9psi pulley on for thousands of miles and dont have a single leak. I think the seal problems are due to the fact that people are overtightening the screws on the shaft when they install it. Also ryan do you think it might have had something to due with the fact that you are injecting nitrous directly into your supercharger?!? Could be a reason for the problem, too much pressure inside the charger and boom..just a thought
either way i hope you work it out and get the car back on the road again, good luck!

I'm not totally disagreeing with you but prove to me that the pulley didn't have anything to do with the problems people are having.
Right now you can't get it rebuilt. I called Vortech 3 times and they told me that it would have to be sent to TRD then TRD would have to send it to then. I think It's a red tape thing. But it can't stay that way forever.
It's called a contract. One exists between Vortech and TRD that prevents them from selling part for their S/C. Beside Vortech will tell you that they do not, will not, and have not ever sold internal parts for thiir S/C's. You can OLNY send them back to Vortech and have the serviced.
I find it a bit frustrating when people come here to share their stories and obviously feel terrible and frustrated about what has happend to them and a certain someone on these boards jumps right on their ___ as soon as he can and starts saying "I told you so" and "you deserve it" and "blah blah TRD blah blah"

My name is Josh if you all were wondering and I never said I told you so to him. Like I said before I didn't want this to turn into another let blame TRD for what is wrong. If you don't like it then hey it is what it is. Cause I'M TIRED of all you other people coming out and saying that it's all on TRD and the TRD S/C is crap and TRD doesn't blah blah blah when it all just an opinion you have and you're stating it as a fact.
Let try to keep the FACT apart from the OPINONS.
i don't have a pulley on my car, and i'm getting a leak on my sc. i'm on my second sc. on the last one, had the pulley-this one, don't have it. same mechanic and dealership installed both of the sc's, so it might be that they screwed up something in the install like outcrnru stated. either way, it's annoying the crap outta me. on top of that, neither time did the guy install the tamper proof cap on my sc. i contacted trd about it, and they basically said that it was too bad, but they couldn't and wouldn't do anything.
