Has anyone switched to E85 on a supercharger?
I'm wondering if anyone has done this. I have a s/c with 9.5 pulley, H/I and Ptuning exhaust. I'm assuming it would be the same to do it like a tubro right? Bigger injectors, Engine Management, 255 fuel pump and tune? I'm thinking about doing it because I'm lazy and don't want to convert back to stock then go turbo (yes I'm missing out, realized this about a year ago) but I've put to much time and money into the s/c setup and no one is willing to buy these anymore. Besides I like to know I have something TRD doesn't make anymore, its like a not to may people have it thing I guess. But I love the car but once I get caught up on my bills in a few months I'll be debt free so I would consider just going e85 with 14psi, water meth and E85 mod.. Any thoughts?
I don't have a supercharger, but I started playing around with e85/gasoline blend to see how it worked on my TT setup. I started by adding one gallon of E85 and the rest gasoline, it seamed to smooth out my idle to the point that, I would be looking around my gauges thinking I stalled the car whenever coming to a stop. That let's me know that with regular gasoline I could take some fuel off the idle if I wanted to smooth it out. At this point my fuel trims are virtually the same, maybe some fuel addition by the computer (+1/+4 fuel trims) no biggie.
Today was time for second fill up with the blend, but this time I added 2 gallons of E85 and the rest gasoline. Fuel trims ran around +5/+7 at cruise and up to +10 at idle, that tells me the comp is calibrating itself to make up for the fuel needed. I did stalled a couple of times when coming to a stop, so I might either add some fuel through the fuel map or might go down to 1.5 gallons of E85 and see how it behaves.
Just so u know I got 700cc injectors, FIC and 255 walboro fuel pump, so I'm not worried on that department. At least I have the peace of mind that I'm running a bit higher than 93 octane and that I could do fine with a less conservative tune or have a safety net in case something happens.
I say go for it, test to see how it works with 1, 2, 3 etc gallons, just make sure you can monitor ur fuel trims with a scangauge and maybe the afr's. In my case AFR's didn't change a bit, which is good.

mr james is correct, i have done this with pretty much the same setup you are considering. you will need larger injectors and a pump and some sort of engine management. i would suggest something well north of 550cc injectors, as i nearly max mine out near redline, especially since it has gotten cold. overall, when my car is on ethanol it feels like an entirely different car.
You can do it on fi/c... all it needs to do is provide more fuel whether thats e85 or gasoline. However, since e85 is a good detonation deterrent, it may be beneficial to run an ecu that lets you advance timing, or at lease use a non-trd ecu with the fi/c.
hmmm.... i'm wondering if it would just be beneficial to just go emanage... i'm sure it would. I kinda know what I would like to do for my setup but money is an issue and I wouldn't want to compromise durability anymore than what I've already done but man I have the itch for a faster tc...
hey gompka how much hp/tq would you think a 14psi pulley, w/m, emanage with redline at 7k do on e85? 310ish?

well I think if its not possible to hit those numbers on the s/c then I'm going to bail on the plan. I'm still in love with the idea of having a sick s/c setup but there is to much work to do and money to spend to get decent numbers.
