help AEM F/IC
alright, soo boosting my friends car. stock injectors and fuel pump. i have the plug and play harness for it. I have it all plugged in but car wont idle. Found out later i might need to first upload the base map on it? it says it came with the base map? My questions are besides plugging it in what do i need to do to make it run to get it to the tunner? The AEM system did not come with a disc. if i could help that would be great, thanks. i no there has been a million threads on it and i have read a couple but still can't figure it out because theres a zillion things to download on each link and don't know what i need.
car prolly wont idle cause your on stock injectors and the map is prolly built for larger injectors, so it could be your starving the engine of fuel.
you will need to download the aem software to your pc
second you will prolly need to download the usb drivers
connect to fic
configure fuel map for stock injectors or download a base map and load it onto the fic

i also see that in your thread you say to download that slave version 104.hex but it wont let me do so. i tried many times and everytime it just says that its incompatiable. and it is running on 107.hex now.. thanks for any help
107 is for the latest software...setup thread I wrote a few years ago so some of the info in it has changed. also if you look in that thread at the bottom of the first post you will see a link to download free maps I made.
i uploaded the cushautomotive base map on to the aem and it said complete and i plugged the harness back in and tried to start the car. same ____ as before it turns catches and then boggs out almost instantly? thanks for any help
Check that there are no boost/vac leaks, all hoses connected, maf is seated properly and plugged in. Also those maps ate set for 550cc injectors and not for stock injectors. I'd have to look in a few min but I think the map you downloaded uses 550cc injectors with a base full pressure set to 70psi ( stock fuel pressure is 43-44psi). I thought I had a stock injector map on that link but perhaps not
alright, ill try that tune do i need to anything special to flash it correctly? it seems to easy to be true when i do it haha. I also will check for vac leaks but have before already.. I have all vac hoses ran to vac block off of brake booster besides compresser to wg. should i give it some gas once it catches to try to keep it from bogging? thanks
Alright got it too idle. alright.. kinda boggy but works somewhat. But with the comp plugged into the fic and the gauges up im not seeing the afr moving at all? including the aem afr gauge staying right at 14.7 with out moving on both. My vac is at 20 seems alright? thanks for the help just want to get it to the tuner safely
you should be at around 22inhg of vac at idle and fully warm (20 isnt too bad exp considering if using a cheap gauge for the readings), if afr does not change at all then its likely something is amis with the gauge (check the wires going from gauge to sensor).
its going to be boggy for a bit till the ecu makes fuel corrections, I double checked and all the maps I posted are for 550cc injectors and two of them are based around higher than stock fuel pressure except the imadork tune.

And with aem afr gauge i dont see the problem. its one solid harness for the actual gauge and a power and ground why is the gauge not working? any ideas? does it have a rely or fuse in it? thanks for all the help
double checked that already. drove it around lastnight and drove real nice surprisingly but wasnt able to read afrs which scared me. I'm hoping that maybe its running to rich for the gauge to read? thanks for all the help
if it runs pig rich it will read 10 all the time...if it reads --- then its hella lean....if its stuck at 14.7 and wont move its a gauge problem (wire, sensor, gauge)...the sensor can screw up on you and it may read ---. you can test the sensor by taking it out of the exhaust, power up the gauge, and place a rag soaked in gas around the end of the sensor. the sensor should read 10 and stay there for a few seconds or untill the gas dries out.
alright ill double check everything again and try the gas idea. Just to make sure i over read something this is how i have it wired
power- to cig lighter
ground- to cig lighter ground
blue wire- to brown uego wire for the fic
white- to nothing
other harness to sensor
sound right?
