Help on Tapping Oil Pan and Fitting Sizes?
Hey i was wondering if anyone can help me out i have a ZPI Stage 1 turbo kit with the evo 16g turbo and was wondering what size hole i have to drill to tap my oil pan and what size tap do i need?
Also i need to know what size L fitting i need coming out of the pan etc....
Any help would be great.....

NO L-fitting....you need a straight fitting to the oil pan. I'd go with a 3/8 NPT fitting or have a bung w/ a 5/8 inlet welded to your pan. I used the 3/8 npt fitting, tapped the hole, and then JB-Welded it to the pan. GOD himself couldn't remove it or make it leak!
^^ yup dont use an L fitting, get a straight bung that fits your oil line.. JB weld is good stuff or you can use red rtv but God can make it leak easily lol, God sank the Titanic..
i dont have a braided oil return line...so just drill a 1/2 hole then tap it to 3/8'' and get a 3/8'' NPT straight fitting and JB Weld it and run the oil return line?

There are several ways to do this. The best way would be to remove the oil pan from the car and have the bung welded in. I, personally, used the method in the turbonetics instruction manual (except I used JB Weld instead of silicone)
The directions can be found here:

It's a bit complicated to explain, but basically you punch a hole in the pan, then tap the hole using the rolled metal from the hole you punched. After that, you simply thread the fitting into the oil pan!
Download the instructions. It has photos and a more involved description (on page 18 )
Hope this helps! Oh, and make sure to heed what Ace83 said. Make SURE you tap it high enough or the oil returning from the turbo will back up in the line and bad things could happen!

Your hole will be bigger than the tap. Use your tap as a gauge to which drill bit you'll use.. then use the tap.

A third option ,and perhaps what B_Real45 may be suggesting, is drilling the hole, tapping with threads to tighten, and gooping it up with JB Weld. This will work just fine as long as you remove the pan before drilling!
