hehehe...iv already started installing things...just my gauges so far...im still sanding down and polishing my manifold. I almost just gave up on polishing the mani and just wrapping it, but i found a better way than hand sanding. oh and i rebuilt my turbo just for grins...old bearings still had some life left in em but i thought i could change em now or in a few months, i went with now...lol

tiny update...got the mani semi polished, taking too long so im rushing it along. runners look pretty good, its mainly around the collector and flange that needs alot of tlc. bolted up the mani and got ready to fab up a new s-pipe. I gave my old s-pipe to Kyle so im trying to make due with what i have and weld something up. Have i mentioned i hate my welder?...lol...had the thing for over 3 years now so i suppose its payed for itself a couple of times over. anyways i had to stop and go back in and hang with my little girl. Iv been working nights and working on other peoples rides on the weekend so this is the first weekend in prolly 3 months iv had a break. One day ill get the turbo up and running again...lol

I got it sorted out but i could still use an fic universal (flying lead) harness. I got my harness used from justin, its passed a few hands even before him so its understandable that a wire would break loose from the molex connector. Either someone had been pulling on the wires to disconnect the fic or just wear and tear. no biggie I tore apart a spare pnp harness I had (for an 05-06) since there isnt a pin extraction tool for the molex connector the fic uses (btw the connector is a molex micro-fit 3.0 if anyone cares).

try stock injectors with returnless fuel system (aka stock fuel system).
I thought it was a fluke myself so i did another run, pretty much the same results.
wrap your mind around this...
I dyno'd my car (before engine build) with this same turbo (nothing of the turbo system changed except injectors btw) with results of 270hp 319tq @ 8-9psi using 850cc injectors. Iv done similar on my old simple kit using 550cc injectors. and now im doing it using stock injectors and stock fuel system.
some variables to think about...
what if my wideband isnt working properly and in reality im leaning out.
well im sitting on 14.5-14.8 afr at idle with minimal fuel trims (+-4 ltf), besides my engine is in one piece so that takes care of that question.
what if my boost gauge isnt working properly and im not really getting that much pressure...well fic reads roughly the same psi.(btw i installed those old school "see through" fuel filters before and after my vac block for better signal...it works!). so that cant be it
what if i some how mixed up the injectors and installed 550cc instead. well the 550cc injectors i have are very hard to mistake for stockers since now DW's come in blue (they used to be OD Green).
what if I have a huge boost leak and im not really getting the air flow.
this is a possibility since i have yet to do a boost leak test, however if this were true it should take my turbo longer to spool up and reach the wastegate spring pressure in which case it spools the same. still need to do a boost leak test regardless...lol
what if the stock injector flow rateings are off.
thats a possibility as well, if im able to ill run this current setup for a bit longer (couple of days) and then have them tested.
what if stock fpr is damaged and it can only open so far.
well stock fuel pressure is still standing at 43-44psi at idle. I installed the dezod fuel rail so i could check pressure istead of hacking away at my stock fuel rail.
to be honest if someone came to me and said "hey man im running 8psi on a 57trim turbo using stock injectors and stock fuel pressure" id call BS. I really didnt think that this was possible but for some odd reason i just had to test the idea. Im glad i did. but i welcome any ideas as to why this is even possible, cause im stumped

this is just a base map, i took a base map i made and just did the injector size change. I dont think im going to spend my time tuning this cause the fuel return system is going on soon. maybe this weekend idk, depends on whats going on and if i feel alright.
btw i do not advocate skimming on important components such as fuel injectors, this was only I repeat ONLY to satisfy my morbid curiosity.
another screen shot for ya

btw if anyone cares the max timeing pulled was -5.5
