I don't get how they can deny the claim. Was the motor not insured? I'd take them to small claims court on principle man.

Uploading pics to photobucket this second...
This is an engine a customer had shipped to me to install in his car. It had insurance but they denied the claim saying that it was improperly packaged.

well I was going to do a diy engine pull and install but since this build has been such a fiasco I nixed that idea and just stay focused on the project at hand...to the owner I hope you dont mind I post these pics..I wont post up the vid or pics of the car itself without permission from the owner.
so here we go
ups fail #1 (or shipper fail if you ask ups...you be the judge)

the ding in the pic caused a raised edge on the deck surface .52mm high. to those who arnt up to date, the owner placed a claim with ups on the damage. Ups picked up the engine to inspect the damage, the next thing I know the engine is being shipped to Cali back to the og shipper and they denied the claim. Well the og shipper sent it back and this is the nice surprise I get (btw the shipper had ups package the engine this time)

thats how it was shipped the last time...nothing is ups proof...i dont think the engine would have survived in a full crate. If i ever ship an engine im investing in shock stickers and a full crate.

its not Dezod's fault...I place the blame on fedfail.
the engine was a useless paperweight however I was able to frankenstein an engine togather from the internals of the ups damaged engine to the og engine.
btw I asked the customer if I could post up more pics and he agreed so Ill post em up in a few secs.

Either way if there that good with customer service they would have went out of their way to solve the issuea, at fault or not.
Did you scrap the other engine?
Sweet
You should do a DIY like you said you were

pics of old engine in all its glory (incase someone doesnt see what went wrong it was the balance shaft bearings went out...literally..they took a stroll out of there homes and into the bottom of the oil pan.

now all that metal "mud" ruined every single bearing in the engine along with some head damage.
bearing on the left shows normal wear on a similar engine...bearing on the right is from this engine

now here is a vid of the engine ups damaged...didnt really matter though after i found some internal damage.

^^ I dont either...but it is what it is. Id rather fedex fix this than dezod...dezod had no controlle over what happend exp when it was factory direct shipping (drop ship from ACT). Paul has done what he could and ACT has done what they could.
