I wonder if that enamel, can contain some heat, similar to a ceramic coat (obviously not as well though)....???

 

I think the paint is rated 500C

 

I always new Java liked the long black pipe....

 

the paint contains ceramic thats how it resists higher temps

 

they have 500f and 1500f paint to choose from, i used 500 on mine and seemed to hold up except for the fact that i forgot to sand the pipe and scuff it before i coated it so it chipped in one spot

i made sure though that i sanded the shiznit out of the one i made for cessblood and java.

Chris, let me know about the dump tube. If open dump is too messy for me, I might want one. Also, how does it sound with the dump tube?

 

500C is approx 932F, which is low EGTs like cruising around town on light throttle and being 7% at 45mph.

 

I see what your saying and i could be wrong on the temp but I dont think your going to see the same kinds of abuse on the dump tube as you would on the manifold. just checked the can i used and it just said 500f so its not 932f(which would most def be better) but i repainted mine AFTER sanding it first....lol and everythings good to go. Ill keep the peeps updated on that and if thers anyproblems ima switch to a higher temp paint.

hey paul im curious about dupli-colors 1500f exhaust paint and the hei 1500f high temp header paint, are they really good for exhaust? what i mean is will they hold up between say on a header for an n/a and the turbo mani on an f/i car. oh and what should i look for in a powder coater (not diy) to do my future projects.

DEI makes a 2000 degree paint if your looking for higher temps the paint can handle
