Default how to clean CAI filter

I was reading through some posts how to clean the filter. I drive some dusty dirty roads, the kind of roads that when you wash your car it looks like it has never been washed. How exactly do I clean the filter? I read put oil on it or whatever...what kind of oil? is there a spray i buy or something? Im having it as a SRI and i figure while the filter sits there in the open its going to get dirty fast.

i bought an extra filter. that way i could take one off and put one in without waiting for the filter to dry.

i have a k&n CAI.. i cleaned / oiled my filter like .. 6k miles ago.. maybe 8k..so it was time to clean it again.... the fitting of the filter was oke.. it was tighted up correctly.. but i tried to clean the air sensor and it was dirty, pretty dirty.. and not just the sensor the piping itself (inside) was dirty.. i touched the inside of the wall (off the piping) and the dirt sticked to my finger.. is it really really big problem? i should change cai really fast or what?

here is some pics:

the only logical thing that could have gotten blue dots into the pipe was if you ran over a Smurf or two....
