Default how long will boost last?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

*edit* - Closing thread. User's question was answered. Advised on SEARCH.

ok hey im new to this sight names kyle and i have a few questions about throwing boost on my car.

so ive asked around before about this but i have a 08 tc that has 51k on it. i was wondering if i ran any name brand turbo kit on my car preferably dezod/turbonetics/zpi on a 8.5 pound setting how long will the motor last? i know its how you treat it and how you need a good tune everything but im trying to get some peoples experiences . I do not want to boost my car and then have it start having problems with in a year down the road. or even worse just blow up. i do few long drives a through the year so i was wondering if it would be reliable and worth the time and money. and all im looking for is 8.5 psi to daily on. and then 10 psi on a manual boost controller for some fun every once in a while.

so the main idea i just want it to last but still be a decently quick car

also it would be grate if there is another thread similar to this if someone could send me a link.

thanks

#1. Site>sight
#2. Great>grate
#3. Gotta pay to play as the saying goes.
Anything with more than one part will eventually break, and you're adding more parts going FI, so guess what will happen. Don't do it unless you can afford to fix what might go wrong.

LOL....prime example of why you shouldn't believe everything you read online. You got only half the story correct. If I was only boosted for a year and a half, I would not have said 3+ years on boost checking in. And yes that's 3yrs of boost on the same stock motor @ 7.5-8lbs, 9.5-10lbs, and 11.5-12lbs of boost. On both a 16g and a 20g turbo. After beating on it for that long I decided I wanted another motor because I was going to convert over to Time Attack. I beat on it from day 1 of being boosted. Talking racing every weekend. After 3 some odd years I was ready for it to be new again, so I got a new Emanage Ultimate from my boy, drove only across the street cause I knew what would happen from 2steppin it untuned. I just HAD to test the 2step it and didn't care to blow it up. If it blew I knew all I had to do was push it across the street back to the house.

It was fun and sounded LIKE A BEAST!

Yes I know, you can say I wasted a motor, but it was all in good fun.
