How long will the ptuning turbo kits in production last.
How long do you guys think companies like ptuning will be still making there turbo kits for production for the 1st gen tc now that the 2nd gen was announced? I'm asking because I have about half the funds put together but was waiting for next years taxes to make the purchase. Baby coming in the fall so this year would be tight. I emailed them a few weeks back but they never emailed back. I was looking to have my car sent there for the install and tune and was looking for a quote from them but I got no answer and that was a few weeks ago. very sad panda
I doubt they will do anything serious for the 2gentC. Well not any time soon but Im sure the Ptuning turbo kit for the 1gen tC will be around for awhile. Hopefully they work on that much more than the 2gen.
Like most companies there has to be a demand for it before anything will go into production.
PTUNING like other companies have a lot tied into the 1st Gen tC, they aren't going to abandon it if that's what you're thinking.
You could simply call PTUNING and ask, they will be glad to talk to you.

Eventually they will shift with times, everyone must. The 1st Gen tC isn't exactly a timeless classic. It took PTUNING much R&D, even in their race tC's, before they brought it to the general public so they same would probably apply for the 2nd Gen.
The tC won't be released in September, PTUNING stop production on the 1st Gen in October and release a turbo system for the 2nd Gen in November. The 1st Gen tC had been over 4 years before PTUNING released their turbo system, I believe they had been working on the tC since ~2006.
I think what PTUNING managed to do with the 1st Gen tC with no help from Toyota/Scion and without hanging from the sack of World Motorsports and their subsidiaries is simply amazing. If others rush to the 2nd Gen tC and PTUNING continues to impress with the 1st Gen tC it'll show their dedication not only to the platform in which they had not help to make great but their dedication to their customers and perfection.
I dislike many tuner shops because they are in it for the buck but PTUNING is the complete opposite. I could be around those guys and not even hear them mention money or cars for that matter. They're diverse and their wealth of knowledge extends beyond that of the dyno.

As long as we have the support from the scion community and demand for our products as well as continue interest by our customers to take their car to the next level, we will continue to push the aftermarket products for the scion platform to the next level.
BTW, there are a lot more real performance products under development for the scion tC (1st gen) so stay tune we're not ready to abandon the scion market any time soon--as long as there is demand, we will continue to build more products for the scion market.

yeah, just because the next gen tc is coming out doesn't mean that all the companies around the country are going to immediately stop production on aftermarket parts for the first gen tc. how many tC's are out there, hundreds of thousands, sounds like a still very nice market to appeal to. i mean, come on, how many parts are still being made for old honda civics, 240's and integras that have been out of production for over a decade?
