Default I dont believe Turbonetics

I was wandering around on here the other day and I noticed an ad for Turbonetics. It said "stock tC: 160 HP, Turbonetics kit 8 PSI: 300whp."
Has anyone actually bought installed and dynoed this kit because that kjust doesnt sound possible to me. Im not a FI guru but I know some basics. I know atmospheric pressure is 14.7 psi or 1 bar. Ive always been told that if you crank the boost up to 2 bar (15 psi over atmosphere) , thereoretically it should double your horsepower, on a perfect engine. So how in the world does a tC with 160 bhp with 8 psi more than double its HP with only 8psi?

The add doesnt say 300whp. They claim 244 WHP not 300. 300 is claimed crank hp.

Did it say 300WHP or 300HP?

I think its making 300HP at the crank, give or take ~10hp

Stock is 160hp at the crank, with Turbonetics it should be 300whp at the crank.

It will take a while, the Unichip needs a new PnP harness made, and Turonetics needs new intake piping.

Just a helpful response to your question:

A turbo charger is fully capable of doubling horsepower on any application, however, it is necessary to theoretically doulbe pressure to double horsepower. In other words, a car with 300 hp stock running 14.7 psi (perfect conditions) would make 600 hp. A 160 hp car with 8 psi would make 247.0748299....hp (in perfect conditions).

It is theoretically impossible for any forced induction product, be it turbo or supercharger, to make more than 247.07...hp from a 160 car with 8 psi.

This is not opinion, this is fact. If anyone has a question as to how I obtained my numbers, please feel free to ask away.

Dude, here is a before and after dyno of a Turbonetics kit.

Why do you not think its 300 Crank HP?

First off whp isnt at the crank. The w in whp means WHEEL as in at the wheels.

And second off it wasnt that add it was one on here with a black background and a silver tC would drive across to wipe the banner. And Im not the only one that saw it my buddie described it to me exactly.
Also even if they only make 300 hp at the crank how do they do that with only 8 psi (should that just increas power by 50%) Does the intercooler give it like another 60hp?

What really makes the difference is the amount of air the turbo can flow. So, while it may be boosting intake pressure, if the exhaust inlet and outlet cannot flow the volume of air needed, then it will not produce the numbers gained from simply looking at the boost pressure. You have to take into account the fact that the turbo is both producing an intake charge and an exhaust restriction at the same time.

OMG are you kidding me.....Its very easy for it to make 300 chp without the wieght of the car on the motor. What Zero posted is a TURBONETICS ad.....300HP not 300 WHEEL hp.

Easy killer, typo. its 300HP not whp. Now look at the dynosheet and cry or something.
