Default I need help (Axle boot leaking)

I went in to the Dealer for my regular Oil Change , they told me my axle boot was leaking!! I have a 2005 scion tc , lowered on Goldline springs 2", and I have 19" staggered wheels (Front 8.5 & Back 9.5) , I asked the guy how much it would be to repalce or fix it and he went into ( Like $2000) I almost crapped my pants ! I dont know what to do , I want to take it to another mechanic to see how much he would charge me . ANY HELP , would be greatly apperciated !!

How many miles are on your car? It may be under warranty. Generally you are looking at 2-3 hours labor at most. Some places may be less and depends on if you need one side or both. So figure 3 hours labor at maybe $80-100/hour. The parts should not be more than $50. They should be even cheaper than that. To be realistic you are looking at about $400 max. It is not very hard to do axle boots. No reason they should tell you any prices like that.

of course the dealer is a rip-off for any fix its like that....but 2000, come on...i wouldve guessed no more than 500....and that would be a for a slower mechanic...imo, get another quote somewhere else....unless warranty is covering it
