Hey yev BTW just to let ya know your in good tC hands at VTR!!! Vinny hired me a little over a month ago to handle Scion's and Subaru's as they come in!!! I have one recommendation as the radiator came with a Mishimoto cap Id opt against the mishimoto cap and actually go with TRD cap same pressure rating but much more reliable. Your Dad dropped the fans and the manifold off to day as well. That controll box looks nice and those fans are very very nice. But no worries Todd and I can and will get everything to work correctly with the new intercooler choice!! BTW my tC is there as well ;). Looking forward to meeting ya when you get back from your deployment.

Sounds good Steve
I asked Dan at assaultech about mishi cap and they said they didnt hear any customer complaints about them. But i will eventually upgrade to a better one probably, just for now i think it will work. I was going to go with koyo but i didn't like how it looks so i decided to go with something more plain. Hopefully it will do the job.

And for everyone else, my Spearco intercooler finally arrived ! *Only* took a month because of some douche supplier of my supplier that did not do the job in a timely manner. At least i got it for a pretty good deal of $375 shipped.

Good questions,
I guess i will be able to tell what the intake temps are once i get there and considering everything will be good with the car at new high ## psi. But i can not compare them to anything because i don't have any data with my other intercooler.

Thanks Steve
I'm praying for everything to go smooth as far as the tuning of the engine, intercooler and fans.

Looks like the fans are to be big to use them as pushers, Vinny said we have enough space to run them as pullers. I guess i will have to exchange the fans.

Ok so today while tuning above 16psi radiator hose was blowing off which suggests blown headgasket.
In addition to that as I was driving off some kind of noise was comingfrom the head of the engine. Lije a very loud clicking/ticking sound. When the car was idlinf nothing was there but when I started driving it appeared. Vinny said whole day there was nothing of that nature.
I dont know what to do now either part out the car or have Vinny swap out the headgasket and check the head. Is it possible that cams went off place or something or valves?
Vinny said tomorrow he will cgeck all the belts and timing.
I need to find out how much it will all cost.
Another question I have is abiut HG. This time instead of cometic I.m going to use stock toyota HD would you guys say that's a good desicion?

Use the factory head gasket. You will probably want to check the deck on the block and head for squareness before putting in the new gasket.

My car is a mess...

block is built by ERL. Head built by Dezod with BC stage 2 cams and valves were adjusted by a machine shop in Dallas.

i have this weird feeling that those nutjobs from TX torqued the head to stock specs instead of APR specs !

So now if i decide to keep the car should i get new headstuds or it's ok to use the ones i have ?

That's a lot of hands to depend on. Best advice is to use a "one stop shop" where you get everything done in one place that can oversee everything. This prevents the "passing the buck" blame game when something fails. One shop might blame it on the guys who assembled the block, that shop might blame it on the machine shop...etc. Sorry for your troubles though for sure man. Good luck with everything.

^^^^ Yup you are correct about one stop shop but when i was stationed in texas i had no choice. And i honestly regret it. I wish i never turbo'd this car and just sold before deploying because now its alot of problems and i have to see how much it will cost to fix this mess at Vinny's shop.

And if it will be close (by price) to just getting a new motor and i decide to keep it i guess i will just have to get a new motor.
One thing i'm sure of is that my block is good. I know ERL builds good block and there is no way something wrong with it. I think possibly there is something with the valve. In that case i will just get new valves.

Really sucks that happened, Whenever stuff like that happens to me it really makes me want to get rid of my car and just forget the project all together, but it does sound like a valve problem hopefully that is all it is and you can get it back moving forward again without a big dent in your wallet

I believe that curse is true as well, which is why I never created a journal for my car the second around. Hope it's a small thing that's wrong with it man. I really like reading your build thread and updates as your car looks really promising to make massive power and such =(

The way to beat the curse.....Announce what you have done...rather than what you are "about to do". Who else got hit by the curse recently?

Curse victims:

Brett
-Suppose to hit the track and shoot for 10's but had a Clutch cylinder issue and missed the race.

Anyone else?
