Painting the IC is fine - the guy who works there, Phil, has done it before with no problems. He said it's actually better for IC's - it'll dissipate more heat. He should know - he's installed and tuned many cars, including his 500+ WHP SRT4 (which is in the Jan 07 issue of Modified mag).

The poor idle is an issue with the car running too rich. That's what it seems like to me. It was driving very badly too - i used 1/4 tank of gas getting home (30 miles). I think the car was flooding out - the injectors are too large and the ECU hasn't adjusted. We didn't have time to reset the ECU at all (install ran way long). I'm gonna try to reset it tomorrow first thing.

Also yes, I do have a CEL now - I did not put on the antifoulers on the S-Pipe. There doesn't seem to be enough room down there to fit it - it might cut the wires if i hit a bump. That's how tight it is.

Oh, Yea I'm the king of the vaccum leaks! I'm in the process of trying to find one myself -Small leaks can be such a PITAS ! Did you know they sell some UV sensitive gas similar to the A/C one that will let you see the leak with a UV light. I might go there if I re-seat my injectors and the leak is still there.

There is a tranny cooler - the radiator for the tranny cooler is in front of the regular radiator.

Yeah - i hope it's not the o-ring. We'll see.

"phil" isnt using thermal dispersant paint... so if anything, it will retain the heat... the opposite of what you want.

the injectors arent too large, and if you didnt unplug the battery during the install... that's just stupid... if you did, then the ecu is already reset and you have a vacuum leak...


should've done more research man

i had high hopes for this project...

Come on mike take it easy -____ happens sometimes. I have to admit that taking the car to a shop to have the turbo installed and tuned and driving home without even a base-fuel map is sort of crazy -but as long as boost is not applied on ther way back things should be okay. Also it's an A/T so you can actually drive in vaccum all day long with an A/T .

We had the emanage plugged in, but the car wouldn't start. The guy who knows the emanage wasn't there - he was stuck in Israel.

I kept it out of boost, or very very light boost. Under 3500 rpm the whole way home.

there may be hope! unplug it now!!!

now, the question is, is it thermal DISPERSANT paint? if it is the other kind of thermal paint, it will actually insulate your IC which will cause NEGATIVE effects...

I'm gonna unplug it in the morning - i'm tired as all heck after watching the install (8 hours of install), and nursing it back home.

Plus it's cold out.

I actually ran mine with no engine management for a week or two on larger injectors and it drove fine so there must be a leak somewhere if you're experiencing the issues you mentioned. Not "smart" I know, but it had to be done. Good luck on the rest of the install. Sucks they couldn't finish the whole thing cause I bet you're dying to let loose on the car.

Ok I tried to get the car running but at the moment, it's not. I'm not sure if it's something with the fuel or ECU or something else.

I tried hooking up the emanage, but I don't think the jumpers are setup correctly on the actual board itself. I connected my laptop to the emanage and it does look like the base map is on there. I imported the map from the emanage, and it looked like the one I downloaded from Dezod's website.

Does anyone know how the jumpers are supposed to be setup on the emanage ultimate? I looked at the diagram on Dezod's site but can't make head or tails of it.

There is a good topic from way back when Sciondad was installing e-manage in his stage 0. Those are the setting I used on mine and it works perfect.

Jumper Settings:
JP1 – 1-2
JP2 – 2-3
JP3 – 1-2
JP4 – 1-Open
JP5 – 1-Open
JP6 – 1-Open
JP7 – 1-2

For the EMU, change JP8 from 1-2 to 2-3.

That is only if you have the Dezod PnP

Tried that - still not working. My emanage light is blinking green though - the manual says that's a fouled plug? It's cranking but not turning over.
