Can someone please tell me the best place to tap the vac line for a boost gauge install. a picture would be great

 

Brake booster. It is the metal line attached to the firewall. Both sides have rubber hose that you can tap in without much effort.

 

that line is a bit to big for the t I have. Anything else, I thought I was shooting for close to the intake (from what I was told) I just dont know what line to use.

 

This is the first time I am running this type of line so please understand I don’t know that much about selecting the line. Electronics im fine motor stuff im green

 

That is the only stable vacuum source on the car. The lines off the throttle body fluctuate alot.

 

Just want to make sure I have the correct line, it is a steel line in the center of the firewall? It is bent out off the firewall on both ends.

 

go to www.ptuning.com and buy there vac block then use the brake boosted to hook it up and then run the boost gauge vac line to one of its fittings bingo all done!

 

Yep. Orileys has staggered T fittings too.

lol...it looks like theres hotdogs by your windshield wiper but i looked closer to see wire stripers

 

So u just take that metal part out an put the vac block in its place?

winna winna chicken dinna....you will however need just a short piece of vac line to extend the end to vac block and a vac coupler. dont forget small wormdrive clamps.

 

I just noticed justin you polished your VC....looks good brethren

 

its alll faded im doing if wrinkle red when im not lazy.. prolyl when i install my sc 60 turbo!

 

yeah they tend to do that if not coated, takes a bit more effort but i like mine polished. just got to get under the hood to polish it up every now and then.

 

what did you guys use to polish it?

 

depending on the casting i started with 600 grit sandpaper (steel wool works well too if the casting was good). 600 to 1000 to 1500 to 2000 then to mothers power cone w/ aluminum polish (turtle wax brand polishing compound works well too)
