You could cut the K&N to make it fit... a few people have done it.

the drop in filter already is a TRD filter. I dont know if the K & N drop in will work with the supercharger airbox, they have different bottoms than the stock one

I was told by a Toyota rep that if you get the K&N for the Camry it will fit the bottom of the new SC airbox.

I have not done that yet though... so if you do it, let me kow if it does work.

What bothers me about the whole SC airbox, is that is definately restrictive.... 2 filters - one of which looks like wadded up TP and that dunb trumpet. Sorry, but I do not buy that it "directs airflow" better.

I wish some company would make a CAI or Short Ram intake specifically for the SC.

Actually I think it really does "direct airflow" better. It has something to do with the MAF sensor. Josh from TRDSparks explained it to me but I forgot. ZPI is currently working on a supercharger intake. It should be available shortly

TRD and the K&N are both the same. The S/C kit do not come with a TRD filter it's just a plain old Toyota filter or atleast every kit I've sold so far doesn't.

Yes the air box does have a lot to do with the air flow. According to TRD it was designed to direct airflow in a certain way so the MAP sensor could read properly. I was also told that adding an intake to it could cause a really lean or really rich condition.

I am working on one as well. I have allot of dyno work to do so I am expecting a release / shipping date of July 1st but I am not going to give out specifics until the design is perfected and I have plenty in stock ready to go. I do not want my customers to be screwed with false promises. Anyways that is just a little inside info that things are in the works ;)

The air filter lower housing and element, is a replacement Toyota V6 hydrocarbon adsorber cartridge...

WTF does that mean?

It's been said that TRD will not authorize any aftermarket intake; any chance they on their own will come out with one, even if it follows the stock design and may be for more appearance then anything else? Sucks that we can't even dress up our engine bays without affecting that sc warranty. Who wants to show off the sc with that box of plastic sitting next to it? Just wondering out loud here.
thx

If you call TRD they will tell you "TRD has never recommended the use of a cold air intake with a S/C". It's always by the book there. I myself would like to see an intake for the S/C but I doubt TRD will ever come out with one.
