Meth injection without tune on S/C?
Hey all
I was curious if a plain-jane TRD S/C can pick up some HP/TQ with a water/meth injection on the TRD tune? I saw the "dyno" on the Snow site for the tC, but I was a little skeptical about +30hp/tq without a tune and supporting mods.

You will see very minimal gains on a stock setup. The whole point to the water/meth injection is to act as a chemical intercooler which in turn allows you to significantly increase timing, and thats where the majority of your power is gained. The water/meth increases the octane rating while cooling the carge temps, and keeps the motor from detonating from that increased timing all at the same time.

i was actually thinking about making a post about this too! you beat me to it. another question i have about this, is that water/meth injection always running? or does it run only on boost? is there a switch to turn the injection on and off?
The spearco unit comes with a window switch that can be set based off of boost, or throttle position, or always on. Boost is by far the best way to tune it, because the higher pressure is where you need the additional cooling.

you make your power from methanol by being tuned with it - i wanted to be a test person and see but now that I know i only get a few hp extra ....its surely not worth it untill you get management.
