Default Mistery E-Ultimate No-Start

I'm out of ideas now, so wanted to see if there was something I missed. So, been driving all this time with my E-Ultimate hooked up. My redline is at 6500rpms, and my single shift light was set around 6500rpms, so when it comes on my reaction between the light coming on and redline, I would bang the revlimiter. Instead of making the light come on early, I figured I would leave the light where it was and just raise the redline a little so as to not hit it when the light comes on and I react and actually shift.

Well, grabbed the bro-in-law's laptop. It's a Vista Laptop (I've used it before to make tweaks). So, I re-installed the Ultimate software (version 1.14). Then I connected to the Ultimate. Downloaded the current data on the Ultimate and as I mentioned, only wanted to change ONE DANG THING! I did a change scale on the Rev Limiter and changed the 6500 to 6800. I upload and then go to start the car and it won't fire. It cranks but it won't fire. So, saying WTF, I then changed it back to 6500 and still no fire. I completely unplug the PnP harness and plug the factory ECU back up like normal....Car Fires. So, now I'm ____ed. Figured it might be an update issue. Downloaded latest E-Ultimate update which is 2.20. Main Updated the unit (confirmed it was updated via the Help). Go to fire and nothing still. So, I unplugged it again, back to factory ECU, and it fires. I don't know what the hell just happened to it, but all of a sudden it don't want to start with the Ultimate plugged up. Like I said, I've been driving on it for a good while now. Simply pluggin it into a Laptop and she takes a dump...WTF?

Any thoughts?

PS....I show no error status lights, and the laptop shows no errors in communicating with the unit.

do any wires look shorted out on the ultimate? what is your timing set to? i thought the e-mangle ultimate was the next best thing to a standalone, and its actions were above reproach???

also silly question, but will the car run at all with the emangle plugged in? for instance, can you put the car in gear, push it to a slow roll, and pop the clutch?

i dont' thnk it would be timing or user error, it's either a software/firmware malfunction or an electrical malfunction, also is it possible to check electric signals from each wire using a dmm? maybe one isn't getting antyhing

Well, thank god for the spare "original" tune I had saved on another machine. I uploaded the original one with the Vista Laptop and it fired up with the Ultimate. I don't get it, I swear I went in and changed one thing and nothing else. Well see if it will take the 6800 this time.

Going to have to tweak the tune a little bit, as the bump in RPMS (starting at 6100rpms and ending at 6800rpms now instead of 6500), the A/F ratio is running around 13.8-14.0's up top. Before the change it was running 12.8-13's up top.

That's what's weird though. Cause it wouldn't start before I did the software update. The version numbers were the same on the unit and software (1.14). And it wouldn't start. Then I did an update to 2.20 to see if that would fix it and it still didn't start. Idk what got switched, but it seems to be good now. Need to alter the fuel to richen it up some.

Yeah something in there must have, but I could have sworn I checked there too and it looked all good. Chalk this one up to the "DOH".... LOL...

I'm going to take it to the 1/4 mile for some N/A base runs. I'll leave the aero gear on and then remove it to see how it runs N/A then put the boost on and run it again. Wonder if I should throw on my Kuhmo V710 DOT competition tires (40 treadwear) I use for the Road course, or just leave on the Hankook R-S2's (200 treadwear) I DD on. They have seen some track days as well, but seem to do ok still in the grip department.

Power wise or everything else? I estimate it's somewhere in the high 14's but all I have for power mod is full exhaust (no cat/res). I have everything else.
-LSD
-Motor Mounts
-Coilovers
-weight reduction
-TRD clutch (due to my stg 4 CC taking a dump)
-LW Flywheel

Ran 15.2-15.3 with the factory tires, and 15.1 consistent with Drag radials back before boost, when all I had were the rear seats removed and full exhaust. One hit wonder was a 14.8 back then.

Are you using the OEM disk to load the driver? I have the disc and it finds the driver off the disk.
