Default Modding the P-Tuning exhaust?

the P-Tuning exhaust comes with a big muffler as they say or whatever it is in the middle, im wondering if i cut it out and just put a straight 3" pipe to replace it what the effects would be? how much louder would my exhaust be? would it sound like a straight pipe kinda.. im catless aswell

Why would you spend that much money on an exhaust to hack it up??? You realize they hand build those mufflers to optimize the exhaust, they aren't just an off the shelf deal.

i know its a nice piece id be replacing it with a stainless steel 3 " pipe so it would go along with the exhaust.. all u would see is the welding marks.. my friends 1.8T with full bolt ons has basically straight exhaust with no restrictions and it sounds so sexy.... i feel to quiet lol

what i think you're taking about is the resonator (afaik mufflers dont go in the middle they go on the end, wouldnt be the 1st time im wrong though)

if it IS a resonator then you would get louder and you would get rasp (generally considered bad / ricey)

The PTuning one has it further back than typical, and that's what he is referring too.

it would probably sound like crap and really wouldn't increase performance that much, resonators aren't very restrictive. if you just want straight 3 in exhaust, get it, would be alot cheaper.

and not all engines sound alike, 2.4 turbo compared to a 1.8t, different animals, different sounds. you might end up up spending alot of money for a really sh!tty sounding exhaust.

You don't deserve that PTuning exhaust if you want to cut it up. It's a resonator, it's just going to change the sound of the car. No one knows what it would sound like, because no one is stupid enough to cut a section out of a $900 exhaust.

Do you ever read what you write? I answered your question, but apparently you were too moronic to realize it. There is no point to doing this. Odds are, it will make the exhaust have a much higher tone, which means rice.

Not every engine in the world is a 2.4L I4 with the same bore, stroke and compression as the tC. They're different and the result is a different sound. Also, STi's don't even have I-4 motors .
