Modding the P-Tuning exhaust?
so why wouldnt my car sound ricey if i had open downpipe.. ur saying a 3" all the way through exhaust will cause rice sound. that makes no sense at all. and i was told its not a resonator on the exhaust its a muffler. so idk.

If you ran an open downpipe, your car would sound like absolute ____. I have this exhaust sitting in my living room, it's a resonator. The resonator is giving your exhaust a much deeper tone because it eliminates the rasp. Just look at N/A situations where people are running headers, their cars sound like total riceboxes, so they put on a resonator to fix the sound.
Ya know what, go ahead, cut up your exhaust, I don't give a ____. If you want to just throw away money, that's fine with me.

I was just about to say something like that. Honestly that sounds like a V10 or something. Do wat ya want man. We just think its stupid to spend all that dough then ruin the exhasut that why. Your lose , our laugh.
seriously, that youtube clip makes it sound like ****. that sound reminds me of old busted up 4cyl engines in old cars from the 80's with rusted out mufflers (or resonators lol)
cars in general do not sound good with open exhaust or straight pipes. like this one time on the way home from work, a new mustang GT convertible was right next to me, he floored it and it was so damn loud, i literally thought i lost my hearing for several minutes after he took off. i found out that the douche bag was running his car around with open headers. it sounded like crap, super duper loud crap.
granted, you live in florida, and they don't have vehicle inspections there, douchebags like you running cars with open or straight pipe exhaust will lead to legislation against stupid stuff like that. its like people who speed in residential neighborhoods and the residents resort to speed bumps.

Do it! The only thing to be afraid of is being pulled over for the obvious increase in sound - which really isn't that much. It's your car do what you want with it.
I have a 3" with nothing but a big Magnaflow muffler on the end of it. Considering I can stick my hand all the way through the muffler I can't imagine a straight 3" setup being too different in sound volume/quality. Also, you can justify the mod with the decrease in backpressure!

i rode around with open DP for about an hour. thats because thats how long it took for me to get annoyed by the smell and the fact it sounded like i was drving a freaking john deer tractor
here's an answer for you...
if you want an extrememly loud and higher pitched sound coming from your exhaust...then take it out...if you like that deep tone that you have right now...don't mess with it. because you have a turbo...the exhaust is going to be a little quieter than normal...but that resonator being absent...you'll just be a loud annoying SOB with a **** load of tickets piling up for noise violations

If you want a straight answer... NO ONE HAS TRIED TO MODIFY THE P-TUNING EXHAUST BEFORE! So really no one really knows what will happen and we all are just giving our opinions. I know a turbo'd car is quieter because the turbo acts like a muffler. In a non turbo tC the pitch would go up but on a turbo tC i really don't know. I would guess the pitch would slightly go up and the sound would get louder overall. But this is all just a guess really. If you really want to know then just do it and let us know. Good luck!
