They have corporate sponsorship so I cannot compete against that period. And there build is good but pushing the motor to 2.7 isn't safe for a DD car. Trust me I did my research and if I could have safely pushed the engine to a 2.7 with the stroker kit I would have but I haven't found one engine builder saying a 92mm bore on our cars are safe, so I stuck with 90mm. When you have sponsorship like Scion you can afford to push things to the limit because it can be redone easily. Like I said I have been long in this game just didn't have the funds back in the day as I do now.
i never said anything about competing against them just saying there giving me a guideline to go by
that block isnt safe to really bore at all but?
they didnt have it bored, if you ever seen a darton sleeve its not bored and relined they cut the cylinder walls completely out and press all 4 cylinders in @ one time,
one piece
but i can only say they claim like that, that block is good to 1000 hp but of course they changed the mains also to billet mains and rebore the line for the stroker crank
and bye they, i mean thats not decendents claimes thats dartons claims, for $7500 block machining it should do something
you seem to be good at this game and seem to have done some homework ur build looks right so far but ur only 28 dude ur game at best cant be more than 13 yrs u were only 15 then
none the less im hoping ur build goes better than expected and last long enough to smoke some evo's,civics and the rest of the competition out there
cuz there are way too many scion haters that need to see what time it is
and i here ya on the funds it aint cheep

When I said bore I am refereeing only to the size not actually boring the cylinders out they used 92mm sleeves, taking the word from multiple engine builders and such I am sticking with 90mm sleeves.
Time spent in the game doesn't really matter as long as you have done all of your research, learn from others mistakes, read a lot of engine books, do the calculations needed to safely run, and have a good engine builder/tuner.

Car will be getting a 07 engine used. The shop had an 07 laying around and ask me if I minded if he used the 07 of course I said I do not mind. I just needed the S/N to order the OEM replacement parts. The engine will be new regardless of what is used everything will be changed. I am going with a .63 A/R compressor housing now instead of the .60 A/R.

Update. I sold the turbo with everything else left. I will be purchasing a new GT3582R with .70 a/r compressor and .78 a/r divided v-band turbine housing. The engine sleeves should be in sometime this week. Once I get the S/N from the engine I will be ordering OEM replacement parts i.e. oil pump, timing components, gaskets, and etc. The transmission is already being worked on and I should start seeing pictures sometime soon. O.S. Giken LSD has been received and it is a the cryo treatment place as well.

Not bashing just interested in what you know or have been told.
I take that as an insult. Especially when it's not true. Company sucked...product...not likely. Everyone knows the product was the one thing that "didn't" suck.

And I already got shotgun with the video camera waiting...
Not to brag and all...but we have some really Bomb **** tC's coming out of TN. Now when you get back home Nick, we have to do a full feature video shoot with the rest of the crew..
