i wish i could take a video of it.. the motor will not turn at all.. even with a wrench on the crank, but if you put the wrench in the off poistion it will rotate.. i figured out what it was, i believe it is timing. iam guessing the value is hitting the piston.
someone should make a sticky on how to set initial timing when installing the motor. if i remember correctly, it has something to do with people using the wrong mark on the cam gears. if yamaha16 can chime in that would be nice, i think he knows what the problem was.

Yea i think when folks are aligning the marks they are using the Dot with an E by it on the exhaust cam. The exhaust cam has 3 marks, one dot with an I by it, one dot with an E by it, and a hash mark with nothing by it. It needs to be timed to the hash mark. If you REALLY need a pic I guess I can go out in the garage -my cams are laying on a table

I know when I reassembled my engine, I had a hell of a time figuring out which mark the service manual wants you to follow. It wasn't until I took note of crank position that I actually analyzed and figured out which valves should be in the open position and which should be closed that I decided which has mark to use.
Yea as long as people use the toyota service manual then you wont have any issues. Mine fired up it the first few seconds after I primed the oil system. I'm having trouble logging onto photobucket now but my pics on the correct timing marks are posted somewhere.
