Motor Build Start up Problem

Notice the 2 arrows.....then the blue circles. The arrows are the VVTI angles, and the Blue circles are the timing marks that must line up. You'll notice that the notch on the gear itself is lined up with the left angle notch. That gear can rotate so make sure its all the way to the left.

also make sure that while everything is lined up that the crank is at 0.
there going to align something in the crank or something they told me. that they think its that. i have a nst light weight crank pulley. bt there going to drop the motor a lil bit to get to the sprocket or something like that to adjust/align whatever. does it sound right? lol sorry i wasnt understanding what he was saying i will just call later to get info.
the pulley is perfect. never had a problem since i put it on. it has to do something with the crank. cant blame a pulley thats been there for 2 years. unless they messed it up taking it out when the block went to the machine shop or something . he said they has to align something in the crank or something like that
ok so i talked to the mechanic and he said when the car starts up the timing shoots up to 30 degrees or something. but everything is lined up correctly and all. so he going to look at something in the crank i forgot what he said to check it out. and that he will let me know. all i know all the marks are lined up and the crank pulley is at zero from what i was told.

he is prolly gonna check the crank position sensor gear. thats what controls your timing.
you should check you variable timing gear to make sure its not locked. there is a thread on this on newcelica.org. if its locked full advanced it wont ever crank.
