I have a Dezod stage 1 kit. The one with the turbonetics Turbo. Its been on for about 5 months and been having problems with tuning. Nobody around here seems to be familiar with the fi/c nor can get it figured out. The base mal I purchased from Dezod wouldn't even work.. everything I try to install it the car shuts off... well for a couple months I've been throwing a misfire code. Forgot which one it was but I went yesterday to my 3rd tuning shop and first ever scion they had ever done and they had the air fuel correct but it keeps breaking up.. like its losing signal to the coil packs.. so i) swapped them out and no better? Could it be the maf map? Any suggestions would be appreciated .. idk what's going on..
After the first couple of days you should have came on here your breaking up is related to your fic harness most likely, search for the resistor mod it's in the fic wrote up which is stickied

Well I wasn't driving the car hard. And it was just my daily driver at the time.. I figured I would wait til my tuning appt and it would be something they could figure out

im gonna start with this. i need help bad.. i know you cant do but so much over a computer. im not new to cars and i know a decent amount. im just not a fan of aem bs im use to a honda with a chrome chip is all you need. so i have been to 2 different tuners and nobody can get it right. anyways i came from a supercharger to a turbo setup. i was running the trd relfash ecu. crush got me running on that ecu with the fi/c with no cel.. i then decided to buy another stock ecu from a local junkyard bc i was selling my supercharger setup.. ever since then seems like i have had my most problems.. so this past weekend i went to another shop... got the afr between 11.5-12.1 across the board.. but still breaking up.. well i leave the dyno and having bad stumbles and rich spots.. and now no matter which map i upload to fi/c it want change how it ran before.. any ideas??ive changed coil packs, spark plugs ( 1 step colder gap is .2
.. idk what is goin on.. it is like my fi/c dont change when i load up maps!!! someone please chime in and help..

your question was already answered by borderguy. the break up is being caused by not having the resistor mod. either search for the diy and just splice in the resistor or contact someone who can solder it in.

ok.. so ive tried a new 02 sensor.. and it didnt help the problem.. my pnp is different than the one listed in the resistor mod fix.. so therefore idk if the pinouts are the same.. can someone please chime in and help.. this car is really making me mad and spending money on a dang tune that i could be spending on something different... someone please help me!
ive had 2 different tuner tune and check the car, ive done the resistor mod but im not sure if its right, ive changed plugs numerous times with gaps of .29, ive changed coil packs and all wiring.. throwing cel and when i just plug the stock ecu in the cel automatically go away and runs 100% better.. i dont drive on the stock ecu.. just trying to eliminate some things

i had the same problem like six months ago. i garaged my car for 8 months during a deployment; when i got back it wouldn't start. I replaced the gas and battery (for the fk of it) and tried starter fluid, it would turn over, but it refused to idol. So i broke out my laptop to check if it dumped my tune. It didn't. I unplugged my FIC and tried the ecu; AND WALLA! it ran fine. So i called AEM and they told me there is no way F/IC went bad and to check my harness(it was fine). Called them back and (practically) begged for them just to take a look at it. So, i sent it in and it turns out, it was fk'd up, even thou it seemed to work fine (connect, gauges and log). Got it back, loaded my previous tune, and she still runs fine to this day.
note* looking back at it. i did the "big three" cable replace before i left it. That’s the only thing i can think of that may have caused it.
Note, note* I only paid shipping. And I didn’t prove any kind of warranty, so they may cover it for life.

Ok I have done resistor mod my harness, I have changed plugs to different times, changed coil packs and still misfires like crazy.. I was previously supercharged and I never had a check engine light until I replace the trd reflash ecu with with a stock ecu.. that is the time I started getting cel.. can someone please help? I cannot get tuned until I have the misfires cured

Yes I sure did.. if I hadn't it wouldn't even have crank.. I've actually don't it twice. I'm not getting anywhere.. I have paid 2 different shops and nothing gets any better if anything it gets worse
I think you are changing too many things at once, the more you change the harder it will be to find the problem. I would save a copy of your map and then go in there and change it to stupid rich or stupid lean at idle and then start the car and check your afr and how the car is running to see if it made a difference. I would also make sure your initial fic settings are correct, mainly the injector dwell time etc. Once you establish the fic is not the problem you can start from there one thing at a time.

Ok.. I have tried multiple tunes with different a/f ratios.. when I first put my turbo set up on. I got a basemap from dezod and the car want ever start with that basemap.. so I got a couple from people on here and took it to my tuner.. still misfires.. I unzipped all files and setup the fi/c correct I just don't know what's going on.. I've been trying to get this thing right for 8 months. I work 12 hrs a day 6 days a week and I don't have time to drive elsewhere besides my state pretty much

Ok. Seems like I deleted all of aem software, swiped clean all the fi/c downloaded my software again... downloaded my last map back on... seems like like everything is ok.. pulls to redline but on low end seems like its loading up
So now it seems like you narrowed it down to the fic, you said you changed plugs and gaps. I would put all that back to what it was when everything was running and go from there. I believe colder plugs with adjusted gap may affect your tune.
