your the one that posted here, why dont you answer the questions?

props for being unique though. so besides that and saving some room in the engine bay, what are some more of the benefits to having this setup?

also, any dyno numbers? track numbers? and aren't you the least bit worried water is going to kick up into that intake filter? even with the hydrophobic sheath over it, it doesnt guarantee that water wont get in there.

if water does what's going to happen? it would probably get burned up as soon as it hits that hot turbine blade

that being said, make sure you dont' hop into a puddle!

I've already described all the negatives on a rear setup like this in our cars.. it was in another thread a while back.

I'm glad STS has a website.. how does that tell me it's got any longevity in a Scion application?

And have you noticed WHY they do this and WHO their primary customers are? Cars with BIG engines with SMALL amounts of room in the engine bay.

Well I'm at work here .. and I have a little time to again list the negatives to this..

CONS
1.) Rear-mount turbo allows exhaust to cool off before getting to turbo (less heat = slower air = less power and increased spool time)
2.) Rear-mount turbo (as shown in pics) allows turbo to suck in water if car were to be driven in puddle.
3.) Intake filter is always dirty.
4.) Rear-mount requires additional pumps for oil (and water if you have a wet center-housing) so that the return line flows adequately. Some even add a small pump for the feed.
5.) Increase in piping length. Takes a lot longer for air to travel to the engine.
6.) Costs! Holy Fabrication, Batman!

PROS
1.) You're the only one.. but I guess there's a reason for that.

Congrats on getting her up and running. Congrats on being the first to run their setup. I'd like to see how it performs. Any track times or dyno numbers?

I know how you feel about being the first. I tried to be the first with a quad setup in my headlights for tCs but a guy beat me by a month. Being unique is a huge thing in the automotive world, but don't get too caught up in it because it will only make you go nuts.

Maybe if you make it up to the NE we could run our cars and see how the setups match up. Could be an interesting match up.

Slightly unrelated... How do you like the Mishimotor Radiator? I am looking to toss one in after modifying my turbo a bit, but haven't heard the greatest reviews from past customers. What are your feelings?

So much hate. Erase the hate!
Props for doing it, regardless of it's practicality. Most of us aren't about practicality anyways.

Agreed - that's why there are "show" cars, and then there are "go" cars.

Not always separate... my car makes 308whp and looks pretty.

2.) Rear-mount turbo (as shown in pics) allows turbo to suck in water if car were to be driven in puddle. ANSWER: The turbo setup is in the factory muffler position.. if i have water over a foot high where it gets into the filter im a idiot anyways.. there is a shielf on the filter to protect from water being kicked up from the tires and road.

3.) Intake filter is always dirty. ANSWER: It has a net to keep crap off it.. yeah it will get dirty.. ok so I clean it.. wow!!!

4.) Rear-mount requires additional pumps for oil (and water if you have a wet center-housing) so that the return line flows adequately. Some even add a small pump for the feed. ANSWER: The STS comes with a patent oil pump for the kit along with oil lines.. problem solved!

5.) Increase in piping length. Takes a lot longer for air to travel to the engine. ANSWER: TUNE and runs good
6.) Costs! Holy Fabrication, Batman! price for fabrication. ANSWER $0.. have a nice night!

If someone came to you and was like hey! i got you a sts kit lets make the first Tc ever with a sts kit and it will be on the cover of a mag.. HMMM geee thats hard to think about it.. plus it open doors to other companies such as HANKOOK, WILWOOD, MISHIMOTO, and many more.. so say what ya want.....

whats going on man, yea some idiots dont really understand and once you step outside the box of norm they hate it.. rather follow in the foot steps of eachother cause anything else is too hard and complicated.

As far as mishimoto its ok.. i have a weird leak somewhere trying to find it out hahah not sure if its from the radiator or o ring they come with. it looks way better than stock only real reason i went with it. and i got a sweet deal haha.. but yeah its alright the more i play around and check it out ill be able to let ya know. its been on the car for about 4 days now.. so dont have a real feel for it.. keeps the car at the same temp so just trying to find out whats up witht he coolant going by bye! haha

ill keep ya posted.
