LOL

Obviously our posts have gone over your head. Sorry about that.

So what I take from this line is that you hope for us to follow your footsteps? Because you're a pioneer of some sort? And that we don't because it's hard or complicated?? And not because it's just not practical??

if you read correctly its more like everyone wants to do what everyone is doing.. not try something new.. not knowing the out come.. STS has been making kits for numerous cars.. yes the main reason is for the lack of engine room big deal ya dont see 350z people _____in about a sts kit, since other companies make turbo kits that fit under the hood. So i really dont see why its not practical, there really isnt that much turbo lag. its estimated at around 1 psi.. WOW!

Yeah, Java. I'm just proving a point here.

It's apparent that he really didn't learn about turbocharging in general - and just got sponsors so he can do something unique.

And that's great and all - I just wished he'd stop arguing its practicality. He can say "I wanted to do it just to be different and that's it - I know it's not as efficient as a normal setup." But he says we, or I, am a naysayer.. lol.

You guys are talking about "pressure drop". Subaru's have very little because distance traveled from turbo to ic to throttle body is only a few inches plus the top mount IC is small. The psi the turbo is pushing is the psi the motor sees. When they switch to FMIC they get some "pressure drop" the pressure now has to go through feet of piping and through a larger intercooler core so when it hits the motor the pressure is not as great.

This setup with the turbo compressing the air at the rear of the car and having to travel 13 feet back to the front and than through his huge intercooler core he will have bad pressure drop! Thats what he means about losing 1psi (of lag lol). If his turbo is pushing 8 his motor will only see 7. Kinda sucks!

Even worse is the exhaust. Is that a stock midpipe? You have cats on that car? You need a free flowing exhaust. Plus any leak you have at your header/catpipe/catback will affect spool enormously I would think.

Anyhow, gl again.

agreed there.

it looks different definitely. if i was doing show i'd rather have it under the hood though..wouldn't be as dirty as where the muffler should be. plus you can have a polished or coated manifold that would really make it look good. also you have every angle to look at it versus only seeing the reflection from the mirror off the ground. but hey, you'll still get points for uniqueness.

not hating on you bud, i dont think anybody really is. just don't expect everyone to be "WOW STS FTMFW "

Im gonna have to rag on this one a little bit...

STS has a good set-up for a non conventional turbocharged vehicle...saya truck SUV, or a high end sports car that is not really full of room.

however...have you ever though of what happens when the back of the car hits a bump, and wham.....no more turbo...I mean ive drug my exhaust way too damn many times to put a turbo there....

but props for bein different....inefficient, but different

I think I'm going to come up with a turbo kit where the turbo mounts on top of the roof.. The exhaust will come from the engine, through the hood, against the windshield, and up to the turbo. This will be a good setup because the turbo will be on top of the car, getting cold fresh air at all times. Anyone want to be the first to try this out??

lol I'm gonna have to since no one in their right mind will do it.

Free roof-top mounted turbo kits for everyone! Just go to the shows and tell everyone how practical it is.

Honestly, I think this is the ultimate setup for us CA peeps because if we get our hood popped cops dont see the turbo!

I like it simply for that reason otherwise i like the way every other kit is for the tC

Uhh.. when they look under your car to make sure you have a cat and no holes in your exhaust, they'll see it.

Thats why you have a lowered tC and you fabricate a metal shield to cover the whole contraption and paint it flat black so it appears stock.

trust me... a cop would never look under the rear of the car for a turbo

And cops DO NOT bend down to look for cats because they are smart enough to know that you cant see a cat on a car
