I just found this topic and I may be able to answer some questions. I am one of the Development Engineers on the FIC.

I have confirmed pinout information for the tC as well as tentative pinout info for the xA/xB. I put 200 miles on our development 2005 tC so I know that the installation is functional.

What will be the advantage of this over the Emanage Blue or Ultimate? Will this have closed loop tuning capabilities (partial throttle)? What price point will this be at?

Well, the main drawback of the eManage blue is it's inability to control the injectors directly. That alone limits it's usefulness and makes it unsuitable for big injectors. Add to that the street cost of a programmable eManage blue with the universal harness is about $50 more than the cost of the AEM FIC which DOES control the injectors.

The eManage Untimate is a nice peice. It drives the injectors directly and more. It does not handle the ignition timing as nicely as the FIC does but it also has gobs of more add ons for progmammable outputs. The eManage Ultimate is *almost* a stand alone. But at $720 street ($499 unit, $90 harness, $99 pressure sensor, $30 sensor harness) it is almost $320 MORE than the FIC.

The AEM FIC was not intended to go head to head with the eManage ultimate. The FIC is designed to be a effective, simple and inexpensive way to add fuel and pull timing on modern cars.

We already have the AEM EMS. If you are looking for a way to control everything under the sun then go for it. The FIC is for all the people who don't want to spend an eternity configuring the fuel and spark on their turbo setup.

When we designed it, we always kept our focus on it's intended usage. It's designed for people who want to turbocharge their modern, (assume OBD-2) normally aspirated engine. They want to put bigger injectors in and pull timing when under boost. They need to clamp the MAF/MAP signal to the ECU to keep out of error situations and it can't set any codes. The drivability has to be like stock. An average guy has to be able to set it up. No jumpers or dip switches. It cant cost an arm and a leg and everything has to be included in the box. And thats exactly what it does, and it should hit the street at about $400.

I dont know. Our installation confirmation car was N/A. I expect that it will since there will be no fueling transitions to screw up the driveability.

I think they are asking can you tune partial throttle with this unit.

Ah, I understand. Yes, you can tune partial throttle with this. It has two 17x21 maps based on load vs rpm. One for fuel and the other for timing.

I can see no reason that there should be any partial throttle problems. Why are you having them now? what system are you guys using the most and whats the specific limitation thats causing it?
