In order to help me tune my car, I want to get an OBDII reader for my laptop. I have seen several of the cables for sale online, but am curious what experiences people have had with a certain type of software. What works and what doesn't.

i wouldn't get the cable, get the bluetooth one, its tiny an d no cables to get in the way. Lots of free programs out there that will work just fine. All you will really need to look at his the fuel trims and open or closed loop mode.

 

You may want to look at knock voltage as well, there are tons of live data that can be looked at.

 

ScanGaugeII does similar.... just no need for the laptop!

Yea i want something like this that has a nice looking hud interface so i can use it for real time monitoring plus datalogging and also to show off on an in car computer
