Read that and take notes when you receive your manifold. Measure and inspect collector area and welds...etc

Is it me or does it look like their wont be any down pipe clearance. You guys notice that the OBX turbo inlet flange is over to the left instead of the usual right to clear the coolant tube thingy. My greddy manifold if slightly to the right and all the other log style manifold are to the right.

^^you are right, it almost looks like the OBX one is positioned a little to the left instead of the right.

I don’t think OBX put a lot of thought into making this manifold, check out where the waste gate dump tube is positioned. It almost looks like these pictures are inverted.

^^Maybe they meant to market toward Custom setups... Where you would be making your own piping and all that.

ok guys.. i told you all i was going to buy one of these and I DID.. lol. what a freakin waste! this this is retarded... it seriously looks like they took thier turbo manifold from the Eclipse, and just welded on a tc flange. It won't even sit flush against the head. the bottom left of the manifold hits positive terminal of the alternator. and even if one could wedge it in there, there is no way in hell a turbo would fit, even if you removed the fans. The dip stick CAN NOT be bolted in either... the manifold won't even come close. In the pics below, the dip stick has been moved around, and pushed out of the way as much as possible... obviously wouln't work while driving.

as for the wastegate... i swear OBX is building these on crack! look at it close... if you mount a turbo to the T3 plange, where would the wastegate be located? yup... directly into the back side of the turbo. the wastegate won't bolt on either.

here are a few pics so noone else wastes thier money on this sexy manifold that DOESN"T FIT!!! LMAO

Manifold and a Turbonetics 60-1 turbo used for fitment reasons.

This shows where the wastegate flange is located once a turbo is bolted up.
[img][/img]

Here is where the manifold hits the pos. terminal of the alternator.. note that the bottom left nut can't be screwed on because of this!
[img][/img]

I can barley fit my Razr in there... how does OBX expect anyone to fit a turbo.. dumb asses.
[img][/img]

[img][/img]

A side shot.... not much room for any kind of turbo at all.
[img][/img]

if you look close, you can see the manifold hitting the pos. terminal again.

^^All the WG ports go to/positioned a little to the left on every other turbo kit. they should have taken notes.

Have you tried closing the hood any? I have to admit though, a 60-1 is pretty large. Might get a smaller turbo to fit in there. But with that last bolt not being able to fit due to the positive terminal on the Alternator still makes for a crappy mani R&D.

Do you think you can alter the position of the Alternator? Maybe you can salvage something out of this...don't know.

this 60-1 has a smaller exhaust housing that a gt35r. the inlet is probably pretty close to the same size.

I did close the hood, and it seemed to be ok.

i guess a t-25 might fit in there... lmao

Obviously fitment is a problem but how does the welds look like?? Also how does the collector look like on the inside?? Might as well take a look at the build quality. Also you are trying to contact OBX about this correct?? Maybe you could get them to make one that actually fits.

I seller from Ebay is refunding my money for the manifold as well as the shipping charges. He forwarded my pictures to OBX, and supposably they are going to redesign the manifold.

I have decided to just have one custom made.
