Just installed the S/C on my wife's TC. Her's is an 05 that we got with 17 miles on it and when we put the S/C on it the clock said just under 74,000 miles. We follow the scheduled maintenance like a religion and after bugging her about it and showing her the clutch slippage in my MR2 Turbo she agreed to let me get it and install it (it was part of the condition of getting the car years ago was to have the TRD S/C installed. I had to source the A/T fitment kit from Hawaii (I'm in Northern Virginia) got the S/C from a dealership in the North West, had my friend who is a Toyota Mechanic and the only one who I let touch my '95 MR2 Turbo install it at the dealership, but off the books. I had him swap out the TRD shaft for a Gompka shaft which I bought at the same time I got the S/C and A/T kit. also got a NST 9.5 pulley and all the parts sat in my garage for about a month or so. The car runs great and pulls hard. I've been babying it for about 250 miles with maybe 5 or so full throttle accelerations. I have ordered the Bosch 110 BPV and that's about it for this car. most of the S/Cs that I have experience with are Small Block Chevy's and a few Big Blocks so I have a few questions. Is it normal when you start the car warm, after its been running and you turn it off for a few moments (like to gas up) then turn it back on for it to hover around 500rpm then after 30 seconds or so creep up to about 600-650? Of course if you try to drive it, it wants to stall but will still slowly creep up there. Once it creeps up there it runs fine. when its off for a few hours and after the cold idle cycle is complete it runs fine. What should I be looking for? Also when at idle, on the business end it sounds like its growling, is this normal? I also have a bit of squeek just starting up on the pulley side of the SC, is this also normal? BTW I searched and found similar problems, but after cleaing the throttle body and following a few other steps I am still having this issue. Also my friend Joined the Army and has already shipped to Basic so I can't have him look at it again for me until he gets back in like 12 weeks.

For the squeak, make sure that the pulley is shimmed properly and the belt isn't touching anywhere. Also, it may just be belt noise? Did you use a gates belt? I have found that most other belts other than gates squeak on the s/c. The bogging issue isn't normal, try resetting your ecu by taking off the negative lead on the battery for about 20 minutes. Then it will take about 20-30min of driving for the ecu to relearn and run right. If that doesn't do it, maybe check your plugs... but i assume since you got the s/c kit the plugs are new.
I have found that the 9.5 pulley and the recommended gates belt squeaks upon start up and at low rpm when engaging the clutch. I asked NST about the squeak problem and they said it could be the belt, but I had a brand new belt. I think going to the next smaller belt will solve the problem.
My idle is the same as yours, nothing to worry about there.
The compressor side of the s/c does make the growling sound you are talking about, so that is normal also .
I have a hks sequential bov on mine and love it.
Sounds like you car is working perfectly fine

Externally the stock BPV and the Bosch 110 Sport look exactly the same, and will mount exactly the same, nothing special to swap them.
Performance effects won't be very noticeable, unless the stock BPV has failed (torn diaphragm) or doesn't hold pressure well. The 110 Sport will hold pressure better, is more durable, and some say you get better throttle response.

Question for those of you that are running the 9.5psi pulley, is there an alternate choice other then the gates belt? I keep hearing that the gates belt slips and squeaks allot, so just wondering if anybody is running a different brand with better results? thanks.....
I've never had problems with Gates belts, and I was using the 9.5psi pulley and for the past several months I've been on the 12psi pulley. Only problem I had was the s/c pulley wasn't properly shimmed. Once that was taken care of, no more problems.
Only belts I've heard that give the most problems are the cog belts, like the Dayton or Gatorback belts.
has anybody ever ran engine management without reflashing their ecu someone told me they ran greddy e-manage blue without the reflash and a good tune and has had no problems. what do u think
^ you dont need the trd flash if you are running a piggyback unit because that unit holds your tune. Because toyota wont flash your ecu back to stock, I would actually tell people to get an AEM or Eman so they can keep their ecu stock. I was shocked as all hell when I found out toyota wouldnt flash my unit back. I was like wtf ..... u flashed it but wont flash it back? really? so I had to go to a junk yard and pay $110 for an ecu, then pay for an hr or two (i forget) for them so change things to make my car start. Just cause you buy a new ecu ... your car wont start w/ it unless you change something else that toyota did (they had a comp hooked up to it and they were doin stuff).
