with the standard supercharger toyota reflash, its safe to upgrade to the 9.5 pulley and upgrade the belt. I have headers and an exhaust but the dealership said that it would be fine. now would adding a supercharger compatible intake cause any trouble (minus the voiding warranty part) or would i have to get an aftermarket reflash?

^yes you can safely run the 9.5psi pulley. And no to the intake. You will run lean. In order to run it safely you would have to purchase a piggyback unit and retune it.

^ thats actually not true. There have been a few people on here with CAI's on their supercharger with the smaller pulley and have had no issues. There are even A/f numbers to back that up.

there were a/f readings to prove that it leaned out before too thats why it was put out there.

oh there was? i didn't remember seeing that. i'm sure that there was tho or else people wouldn't be saying it. i was just saying that when i put mine on it didn't lean out from stock too much. only .2% which is nothing.

yea, dont remember where but they were listed and it wasn't a negligable difference. possibly the updated reflash also inadvertantly corrected the issue, i always thought it was kinda weird.

could also have been the intake they used, using random or ill-designed CAI on an NA tC causes issues by itself.

it is possible that even with the lighter pulley and CAI that it will run fine with just the reflash...but why take the chance? If something were to happen, no warranty will cover it because of those two things so why not go the safe route and get a piggyback and a tune?

just to let people know that with the nst 9.5 psi pulley the gates k070890 will NOT fit on the 08. i tried many times to put it on there. i just talk to scion and they said that they are different size from the 06. hopefully i can find out belt number that will fit to use.
