It's right around 3k rpm. It's actually getting worse though so I'm thinking it's something mechanical and not in the tune. I also have a pretty severe boost leak that I can't seem to find so I'm just going to make an appointment today to have it all looked at. Hopefully it comes back running better than before.

Good luck man. From what I hear, boost leaks are a pain in the grass.

I've been working on figuring that out but my Windows 8 laptop isn't able to install the AEM software and my Windows 7 machine isn't recognizing the FIC. I'm taking the car in on Friday and I'll figure out that information then. The shop said it sounds like all of these problems could just be related to a vacuum leak. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the tip, I'll give that a try as soon as I get home. Can anyone give me a 30 second tutorial on how to find the firmware version? This is what I've found

1. Go into the FIC software and click on file. Scroll down and click on "Get Slave Version."
2. Follow instructions until you get the "Form 1" window.
3. Unplug the USB cable from the FIC. Press and hold the Re-flashing button on the FIC while plugging the USB cable back into the FIC. Continue to hold the button for 5 seconds and click the continue button in the software.
4. The “Form1” window will appear and display the firmware version.

but holding the reset button makes me nervous..

Alright so I got the car back and I ended up cracking a weld on the intake. They welded it up and it ran great..for about an hour. After putting the car back into boost again the same symptoms came back. My guess is that I blew the new weld so I need to come up with a different solution. I was thinking about swapping out the intake pipe for this http://www.dezod.com/pd-dezod-motors...n-tc-07-10.cfm and just dumping the bov to the atmosphere, but I'd need to get a maf adapter to run that. Paul you wouldn't happen to have one available for the 06 maf would you?

None for the 05-06. Only have that pipe for the 07-10 MAF and there is only 1 left of that too.

No problem, I should probably just pick it up regardless..I'll find a way to make it work. Will this work in conjunction with it then?

That would need to be re-welded in place of that other flange that's on it already. You would be better off with this instead if you wanted to do that.

How the F are you blowing a weld?! Sorry to hear man :/ That is pretty crazy though. If the weld cracked they should fix it man. I would try putting shielding gas inside the pipe as well if it is having cracking problems. Tell them to burn those welds in! lol Good luck with the build.

Really wish I knew...I think it has something to do with the engine moving due to the torque and the intake not having enough play in it. I agree that they should fix it, but even if they do it's just going to happen again. I'm going to give Paul's intake a shot and see what happens.

Get yourself some Energy Suspension motor mount bushings.

How was it welded mig or stick? If it was stick could have been incorrect rod used and didn't penetrate correctly

Not to be a stickler, but I think you mean TIG. Sometimes we see welds crack because of insufficient weld gas/too much rod stick out. Also, not enough penetration will defiantly cause breaks under harsh loads. Some people will just put the filler metal ON the base and not melt it into the base material.

Oh lol. I thought you meant TIG because stick welding aluminum is pretty rare. My bad
