Oil Pressure gauge

im boosting my tC and was wondering if a oil pressure gauge is necessary. im trying to kepe this build as clean as possible meaning as few gauges as possible, thanks in advacne for all the input
You dont want your engine running with no oil pressure. Its only there for you to catch a failure before the idiot light on the dash pops up and your engine seizes. If your pressure drops and you catch it via gauge, you may be able to save your engine if your quick to react.

ok i bought one now i will be running oil pressure, boost, and afr. Any other gauges that are absolutely needed? im trying to keep this as clean of a build as possible i got the doc iso cubby hole panel for the oil pressure and i have a one-off vent pod for the other 2. i dont want gauges just sticking out i want it to look like thats the way the car came from the factory
You're good with those three. The main point of having a gauge is to know when something goes wrong before it damages the engine, and those cover the major failure modes (run too lean, overboost, loss of oil pressure). Water temp, trans temp, and a few others help but aren't needed outside of high stress / race environments.

sweet thanks for the advice everyone i really appreciate it, now time to thread jack my own thread(is that even possible oh well). I bought a boost pressure sensor, i know it plugs into the emanage but where does it go from there?
You'll need to tap into a vacuum source after the throttle body. On the 1gen xB, there is a vacuum line that comes off the throttle body and goes to the vacuum control valve (VSV). I used a t-tap off of that to go to a vacuum block, and hooked up the boost gauge and pressure sensor from there.

does your boost gauge needle flicker or if you have digi do the values bounce back and forth at warm idle?

i already have a vacuum black im talking about the boost map sensor that plugs into the emanage to tune with boost pressure instead of throttle %. where does that go?
