Default Oil pressure sensor --> leaking :-(

anyone had this problem before??

my oil pressure gauge today was going off (beeping). I couldnt find out what was wrong with it, and so i took the instruction and read it. I tried to calibrate it and change the settings...but it was still beeping and warning light blinking (somethings wrong). Then i checked the oil pressure sensor itself...it was leaking oil!!! ...the oil drips where the wire is connnected to the gauge and the black rubber covering around it came off. SUCKS! This f*ckin gauge and sensor cost me $250+ ..Im going back to that place where i got it from, and they better replace it. muthaphukaz!

did you use any pipe compund around the sensor when istalling it? If you didnt try it this time, it will help fight against any leaks...also on anything thats dry fittings use teflon tape to wrap the threading

I did use the teflon on the thead, that is why its not leaking there.

You have a leaky sensor, I would not say not to buy a particular part because of that.. could just be a bad sensor. If they take care of you and replace it then dont bash them. If it happens again, then you can start complaining about poor design.
