I say tuning is the key man.. if you have a stage 1 just tune it right, if a zero then go for a stage 1. But just change the turbo if you want more power than spending for another full kit

The kit is not at fault. The owner has to make it what it is. You don't take care of it, you can not expect it to perform. And dont tell me it opperates like its in top shape, cause no real Stage 1 would loose to a Stg 2 Cobalt.

I didn't see anyone mention it thus far, but the sound of the WG changes also with the length of the dump tube. My dump tube isn't really a dump tube, as it's only about a 2inch pipe coming off the WG port.

im not too mad about it im on 7.5 pounds with a base map nd when i give it full throttle it misfires so i did race him at 3/4 throttle with my a/f sitting at 10.0:1

Not true at all! The WG valve is always moving open and closed. As the boost progresses toward the spring pressure, the valve begins to open more and more. When the spring pressure is achieved, it's wide open. So in essence, it's open a tad at 0 VAC, and progresses to wide open by spring pressure.
This is not always true. Running an AVCR you can keep that thing completely shut until you reach target boost.
