I am not sure what size turbine the stage 0 has but if it isnt equivalent to a .63 of a garrett and the compressor of the equal of a t04e 50 trim then you are wasting time with internals . these DOHC engines toyota makes flow some serious exhaust gasses and that size turbo will actually spool before 3k . you may also want to find some rods . I know on the 2rz engine the rods are the first to go if u happen to detonate .

Zpi uses the EVOIII 16g turbo. I do feel peresonally its a bit over kill on all the parts becuase the tC stock has a compression ratio fo 9:6:1. So he wouldve been fine withe stage 0 by its self. But hey as they say to ones self. Cant wait too see the dynos on this. With that I wouldve just bought stage 1 block it comes with all that inthere instead of rebuilding the whole engine. Oh and the ZPI pistons comes with pistons rods and rings.

replacing the pistons is a good move since the stock cast rings suck *****.

I am interested to see how this will run. Hope it all works out.

Post progress when you get all the parts. I would like to see pics of the 2AZFE torn down.

whats so bad about the stock piston rings ? you would be surprised what these engines can handle with the proper tuning . detonation is the biggest killer of any engine . and will kill a forged bottom end just as fast as a stock one .

I take it, this car will no longer be a daily driver. With those mods, I expect you to be parking it more often.

Well they are cast, and the compression ring is located way too close to the top for heavily boosted applications. Just search around, you'll see what I mean. Just ask TurboCustomz (I think he is one who has seen this).

I didn't say you couldn't drive it. I'm just saying with low compression pistons, it no longer becomes DD friendly. So, I would advise to get another car.

Our BSP is barely DD friendly. Rich as hell, and pulls hard.

I am sure the ring being close to the top is only an issue if u detonate the engine . however they have people making over 300 whp with no problems . dont get me wrong moly rings are of course better then stockers but I dont think many people r going to see the limit of there stock rings with anything under 300whp .

I have a 97 tacoma running 8.5 : 1 running 14lbs and daily driving it still gets 20-23 mpg . why would u think it becomes unfriendly ? factory turbo cars come with low compression engines , dont they ?

Any turbo car can be a DD no matter what your boost is or what your block is made of. How many people really smash the throttle from red light to red light with a 30 psi set up, plus if your smart you will have a piggy back with at least 4 different maps.

I work with a guy who has an 04 SRT-4, 400+ HP, best time at the track 11.7, 26 psi DAILY, DTEC-FC, and drives it to work every day! Oh yea and his track car is a custom built 7.0L twin turbo mustang.

Come on dude there is no such thing as a Scion TC track car, your giving it a little too much credit.

Then you must not be aware of ZPI's car then huh? Enough said. And I'm not talking about the Silver tC, I'm talking about the FM one.

You can drive anything everyday if you want. I'm speaking in terms of would you WANT to drive it everyday. Some people do, some people don't. We are the people that DO, just incase you were wondering.

Very good point there. I totally forgot about the FM tC being the track car.

Rythmn (i dont know your name), I didnt mean it to seem like I said you couldnt DD it anymore, I was so tired when I made that post. I had just got back into PHX, AZ after a weekend in PITT. I had complete jetlag Leaving Pitt at 1230pm and landing in PHX at 130pm yeah...lol I passed out in Baggage Claim.
