I mean, you don't really see the benefits of a 3" untill about 350hp or so, right? I'm gonna be there soon, but if I was planning 3", I would have opted for the 3" downpipe and spipe with my kit.

I really like the fact that I can go 2.5" all the way back with thier options.
I see people saying this everywhere.. that you dont see the benefit on getting a 3" exhaust until over 300 to the wheels.. idk where this data is proven but its not true in my case. I noticed an increase in overall power and quicker turbo spool up. 2 benefits that are well worth the money spent. Im on a base map greddy kit pushing 7.5psi so my horsepower rating is around 230 to the wheels if im lucky.

Do you have a before and after dyno?
And did you get retuned after the exhaust to compensate for the increased air flow?

LOL!
My bad. I was just saying that your butt dyno is not very accurate, so you really can't say that it did give you an increase unless you have dyno numbers from before the 3" and after. But it has to be better then stock.

But what I mean is that a 3" won't be an improvement over 2.5" untill over 300hp. So with only 300hp, you would have gotten just as much increase with a 2.5" as you did with the 3". Does that make sense?

It was an improvement for me. I had the megan catback on before I switched to the turbo-mafia.. I am not running a turbo with a stock exhaust.

I am not going to pay $200 for a before and after dyno for an exhaust.. that just doesnt make any sense. Nor am I going to order a full 2.5" exhaust now and a few months later sell it for a loss and order a 3". Nor does that make sense.

I noticed a performance increase and faster turbo spool up with the 3" over the megan catback. That alone is worth the money, enough said.

I agree 100% and I didn't mean to insinuate that a 3" would not help or hurt performance.

In my case, I already did a tune and dyno with the stock exhaust. but when I get a 2.5" or 3" exhaust, I will pay the $100 (or get a deal cause my tuner likes me) to see what kind of improvements it makes. Depending on how much PSI i'm pushing by then, I may need a retune anyway.

In any event, that $hit looks dope! I love it! I wanna get one!
Now post up some sound clips!

Hey, I was looking at the pics on the turbo-mafia.com and they all look like axle backs. But this is a catback, right? Includes teh mid pipe? How many pieces total, and how are the connections between the pieces? They all got gaskets?

on a turbocharged vehicle the best exhaust is no exhaust. people seem to forget that the turbo bolts to the exhaust manifold creating a boatload of backopressure. once exhaust gases exit the turbine, you want to get that exhaust out as fast as possible.

The only way to "legally" do that would be to run a cut-out. But having a full exhaust is still a crowd pleasure.

bsp:
you don't NEED to, but it's a good idea cause you are increasing the air flow.

mall is right (what jeff is doing) but like rythm illuded to, your more likely to get pulled over for that.

turbo toyotas is coming out with a burns style exhause which will basically dump right off the S-pipe, so it's a good mix of both.

recliner: can you post a pic from the rear at ground level so we cansee how the mid pipe is going?

The exhuast looks great. I would love to get some sound clips. IF you ever have the chance to snap some underbody pictures, please don't hesitate. That's gotta look good under the car. I know you never see it except when it's up on a lift. But still it's the thought that counts lol.

We really need to get some 3" S-pipes completed so we can start selling those as well.
