PREPARING to buy a SUPERCHARGER
For about a month now, I was satisfied with my car's power... After I raced my friend's stock tC, even with my set up, I only beat him by half a car length... Now that could be due to the ground being wet from the rain earlier that day, or my driving, or both. But a tC with a full exhaust system, CAI, SHOULD be able to beat out a stock tC by more than half a car length... I mean, seriously, 140whp stock on my tC, then I add a full exhaust system WITH CAI, I should AT LEAST see 25-30whp gain (due to no CATs and statistics from Header and CAI dyno testing).
After that, I seriously considered Turboing my car, but after I read IceNine's thread and post, I decided S/C was the way to go. I'm purchasing a S/C from this guy named Erebus if I can get some questions cleared up. If not, then I'll be buying it from Toyota Territory (the catalog part of the site seems shady, but they are in fact a REAL dealer, I talked to Omar from the dealership there in Texas, and they are REAL and NOT lying).
Now for what I will do AFTER I get the s/c... if I buy it from Erebus, I'll have the Forge 007 BPV and either custom K&N intake or the S/C "stock" intake... I'll be buying a NST 9.5psi pulley and belt and that'll be it for now.
WIth my current setup, I'm expecting AT LEAST 240whp. On the NST project tC, the guy on there was able to net 230+whp with JUST headers and s-pipe, so I'm assuming with my mid-pipe and HKS exhaust and if I have the custom intake or not, I'll have 240whp or CLOSE to it...
Any suggestions or comments, please post!

The mods you described are going to top off the s/c very nicely. The step after that with IceNine’s is going to very expensive and requires a bit of tuning. Personally, I don’t know why you’d go that route unless you already have a s/c or want to make a statement with high s/c numbers. Be aware the mods you listed will only get you into the mid/upper 14’s in the ¼ mile with good traction. The power is late and almost feels like a cam lift. I was pretty disappointed myself with the s/c and regretted the performance aspect of buying the kit for a while. Don’t get me wrong, it’s quick and you’ll have a warranty, maybe….. TRD is assembling these things now with a different bolt to hold the pulley. Turbo might be better if you plan to mod.
Not trying to talk you out of the blower, just be aware you could be out a lot of money if things don't work out..... No warranty

You will never see that gain with those mods. CAI gets you practically nothing but sound. Catback will never live up to the ads. I would expect 5 - 10 hp being VERY optimistic. Header MAY get you the same, but it wont be in the same rpm range most likely and will lose you power in other parts of the band. These (ar things the tuner part companies dont tell you. This along with some prettuy questionable testing (like testing a CAI right after install.. before the ecu relearns and the car is running lean) are what make these great claims in the ads. So that is why you arent seeing the gain you expect. I have yet to see a bolt on that lives up to its claims.

I would GLADY get a turbo, but there's no place close to me that I can trust to install it and tune it. Even if I did find "that" place, I have no gaurantee that they'll do the right job and a long with that, Turbo is a lot more high maintenance.
I want the S/C for reliability and to be able to have some sort of FI so that I can push the power limit higher. Plus, the S/C is "always on" as in there's no "kicking in." Power is there from idle to redline, especially with a different BPV. I've actually decided to get the S/C new from Toyota Territory and will have to buy the MMW S/C intake so I can get the airflow going in my car once it's S/C'd.
My Plans after I get more money is a 12psi pulley and unichip+tune (of course), water/meth injection, and cams. That way, I'll be sure to have the same amount of WHP as IceNine. And I'm not looking to be able to run 13s or anything like that, I'm looking to make my car 300whp and beat out all those ricers in my area that think their car is so cool.

Yeah, but having 300whp and not able to run low 13's seems like a waste.
man, seeing how you're 19, and don't really seem to have a budget...it doesn't seem like something worthwhile unless you have a great paying job, and paying for everything yourself...i mean everything.....300whp seems really farfetched with the setup you want to run, and try gettin' in a zpi turbo car....i'm telling you, almost no lag....and everyody who has one can back that one up....but you're lookin' to net 160 whp.....sounds very expensive...if you don't mind, how are you affording all of this? lol
The ironic thing is that the setup you've got in mind will be more difficult to pull off due to a number of factors.
1. Unichip. Finding a tuner is one thing. Finding a Unichip tuner is another.
2. Cams. You'll have to pay a day+ in labor for them to be installed, as the probability of whatever random tech you find that can do it has likely never worked on a tC before.
3. Water/Meth injection requires constant checking of fluid levels and, without the proper failsafes, can break your car. You get a kink in one of the lines with an aggressive tune and you're boned.
In addition to this, you also claim you want the Supercharger for reliability. Why the hell would you even think about modifications?

The S/C can still be reliable, and taking into consideration, you're right about those mods that I'm planning on getting. I think I'm just going to stay with the S/C, 9.5psi pulley, most likely the HX BPV, and a S/C aftermarket intake (still not sure of what to get, HKS, MMW, or some other)... After that will come suspension and more cosmetics...
All of that will come in due time, in probably a few months. After a while, I'm going to save up enough to buy a EVO IX MR. It'll be used but it's fine, only 4,500 miles for $29,800. Only thing that sucks about that is that it doesn't come in black, so my only choice is "titanium"
And I know, many of you are wondering "Why are you putting all of this money into your tC if you're planning on buying an EVO?" And the thing is, I want my tC to be my daily driver and still "fast". I still want some extra HP so when I step on it, it'll still GO! The EVO will be my "secret weapon" and I will mod that as well.
As for the paying issue, I have a credit card and a good paying job (US Army) and it's really amazing that I'm only 19 and will be living on my own and paying for my own insurance and vehicle. Don't worry, I've thought it all out and it's actually very simple for me.

The Evo IX MR that I beat in one of my vids.....IS Black.

IceNine is not your tipical s/c owner. He had some good people working with him on that setup too. The funny thing is you (chuynh207) said you wouldn't go turbo because you didn't know of anyone you trusted to do the install. Now you want to do stuff that is even more intensive than any basic turbo install and tune.
OK dude, the fact that you say that you want to S/C because of its reliablility, tells me that you have not been reading the forums here AT ALL. I have seen more S/C problems then Turbo problems from this car.
I used to be one of those that was all for the S/C. Infact I was, for a while, the first one to hit 227hp and 197 ft/lbs. BTW, that was with a FULL Mandrel 3" exhaust, intake, Bypass Valve, and 9lb pully.. So that will just tell you that, 240whp from those mods you mentioned is unlikely.
ALSO, I was on my THIRD Supercharger when I traded it in. Yeah, I had to pay for the second one out of pocket because Toyota Sux with their warranty, and will give you nothing but headache WHEN, not if, your S/C has problems.
Save yourself the trouble and go Turbo. You will be MUCH happier in the end, and the tC can be a real BEAST with a Turbo.

You have your info mixed up on the SC. The power is NOT there all the time for this or any SC. On a roots (a much better setup) the power delivery is much more linear looking, meaning that it begins creating its power at idle and ramps up with rpm. A centrifugal unit (like the one for the tC) comes in much like a turbo. While there is not dealy between engine rpm increasing and the blower speeding up, the power delivery is not linear like you are thinking. And it certainly is not there "all the time" as you mentioned.
