Default Prosport Gauge Issues

I have the performance series, boost n oil. The oil pressure gauge will some peg full scale and then today my boost gauge said -10 vacuum when its ALWAYS -20 and thats what it supposed to do and then it randomly hit 5 psi AT IDLE and then back down to -10 vacuum and now it pegged full scale.... what is going on here? A friend of mine says the wires provided with the gauge get corroded easily and thats definately the problem and why he had to get rid of his. Their website says if pegged fully it isnt getting a good ground. But this only happens randomly and it usually works. Ive heard some horror stories about prosport and here we go....

glowshift, I love mine, and all my friends love theirs.

But it sounds like you have a bad ground

NEver had a problem with my Defi, or AEM's. And any Autometer or prosport Ive installed. However, I didnt install, but a friend of mine had a similar issue with his sti. It was fine in vacuum and as soon as he hit boost, it pegged. Turned out to be a faulty gauge and he had it replaced for free.

I have prosport oil pressure, never had a problem with it.. just annoyingly loud alarm when tuning the car and ignition is on..

my PLX devices fancy DM-100 gauge paired with boost module however does not work, the screen works but it's not reading boost.
hopefully Vinny can check it out, maybe it's not installed properly etc..

prosport is meh... i have an EGT gauge which im not even sure is reading accurate.. 1200F at WOT lol, its either my tune or its faulty.. probe mounted less than 2" from the manifold flange.. i would just go with autometer next time.. aem would have been great but their red led is so boring... would have been great w/ other color option

It can be the Same grounds but have you visually checked it or your just saying. The grounds could be loose or something.

It's unfortunate, but like most everything in life, if you want quality you are going to pay for it. If it seems to good to be true it probably is and if the cost is cheap then the part is normally cheap as well.

I recommend Defi for a no hassle most accurate way of monitoring engine vitals.

They probably do. Prosport, glowshift < Autometer < AEM < Stewart Warner < Defi

I have PLX wideband which works like magic no complaints, PLX DM-100 with boost module and ProSport oil pressure. So far prosport no problems, but that PLX DM-100 with boost module has not worked properly yet that thing is so high tech that people get confused looking at it. Once i'm back ofcourse i will figure out what the hell is up with it. I didnt exactly cheap out on them either so just an example of how big $$ sometimes is not all that perfect. Defi would have been less money i believe.
