Default Question about ZPI 16G set up

I got a 06 automatic tc with a ZPI stage 0 kit with a FMIC. I am going to tune the car with a unichip and 550cc injectors. Will using a 8.7 PSI spring be to much? What kind of numbers should you guys think ill be getting to the wheels? Should I run less PSI? I tried searching but could find out the anserew.
Thanks,
Chris

8.7psi may be a bit too much for the stock transmission... i'm not too sure what sort of numbers that would put out on your kit, though.

i think the zpi stage 0 with added IC was only in the 250s on the 8.7spring...but some got up to 285...so I'd put in a 6 or 7 psi spring just to be safe. You can always just add a boost conroller (manual will run you $35) to up it from there.

I got a tranny cooler now. And I might be considering getting a valve body upgrade from IPT trans.

You sound like you have all the right tools I reckon. But you are essentially not a Stage 0 anymore. You have management (unichip), fueling (550cc injectors), and a FMIC. That makes you a Stage 1.

you could run 8.7psi, but id suggest leaving the spring you have in there now and pick up a boost controller that way you have an option to turn it back down if it does seem to be too much for the tranny to handle. i ran 6psi on my old auto tC with no cooler and it caused slipping after about 30k miles, then again i beat the crap out of the car.

Thanks rozz-Tc for the info. Damn I just dont know what to do either stay with the 8.7psi or just buy a 7.25psi spring.

i have a 08 5spd with a stage 0 and i got injectors and emanage ultimate put in but i asked the tuner if i should put in the 8psi spring and he said not to because if you do you will just be blowing hot air and thats not efficient at all and youll get more knock that way. Just keep the 5psi until you get an IC

Hmmm....good question. For an Auto, I can't remember what the common numbers are. I'm going to guess between 200-220whp.

Only 200whp at 8.7psi? wait...the stage 0 came with a smaller spring, right?
What size spring do you have right now, tcchris?
Just remember, even with a boost controller, if you have the 8.7 psi spring in, you cannot make LESS boost, only more. So if you have a 6psi spring and a boost controller, you can have 6psi or 12 psi or anything in between.

Right now I have a 6psi spring in the kit as of now which is what the stage 0 had to begin with.
With the boost controller would I have to tune the car? Do I have to tune the car for higher PSI?

yeah, any raise in boost needs a new tune, keep the 6 psi spring, pick up a boost controller, head to a tuner, install the boost controller, have them make a tune for it

Yeah...I don't know how it is with the unichip, but your tuner should be able to tune you at 6psi, and also at 9psi, or whatever other setting you set yoru boost controller to.
