What size spring do you have right now, tcchris?
Just remember, even with a boost controller, if you have the 8.7 psi spring in, you cannot make LESS boost, only more. So if you have a 6psi spring and a boost controller, you can have 6psi or 12 psi or anything in between.

I was taking into the account that it's an Automatic. I was being conservative. A manual on 8.7 PSI would be over 250whp.

Thanks,

the only MBC i have experience with is a turbochargers.com one , not sure who makes them but it didnt cause any boost spike which can be common in MBC's, its only like 45 bucks.

I run the Turbo XS one. It spikes, but only one PSI over what I have it set to.

That and Eclipses run faster times than that stock. The GSX runs a 14.7-14.9 with a T25. The GSX can run 12s with good fuel delivery on a 16G.

For the poster...

I would drop a level on the wastegate spring. That might be too much for the auto to take. Try staying around 6-7 if you want it reliable. And definitely use a tranny cooler.

Just saw the end of this thread...

I would STRONLY suggest running an electronic boost controller. They're much more reliable and more safe, provided they're set up correctly. I like the Blitz SBC Spec-S, AEM Tru Boost, and HKS units. For a little bit more, you can run the Apexi AVCR which works well as a monitor for other devices as well.

Ok joe thanks for the info. Since now I got the expert chiming in on this post heres another question for you Joe. Do you think that later down the road if I do put 9PSI to the tubo will the tranny be able to handle it if I upgrade the valve body and a tranny cooler?

I'd say it's possible. The valve body upgrade will be huge. Even on 5psi I say run a tranny cooler, so I don't think you should ever run without one.

What driving habbits will the car be seeing? Track use, auto-x, drag, street, etc?

The driving habbits that the car will see will just be on the street doing the usal daily driving. As far as drag mabey down the strip a couple of times but thats about it.

Thanks rozz-Tc for the great info!!

Yeah, still sad for a turboed car from the factory. 14.8 was our tC's best time with only an exhaust.
