question on boost and tune
hey fellow boosted bretheren
ive been boosted for a few months now and just got my Greddy ultimate e-manage.
im running:
Garrett t3to4e
TurboXs RFL blow off valve,
Tial Wastegate .4 bar (5 psi)
440cc RC Engineering fuel injectors,
pretty much a basic kit
ive been running it without a tune (not a good idea, i know) and without gauges (i know, not a good idea at all) but i can finally tune it now. im most likely going to be going to GRD performance in illinois.
ill be getting all the approptriate gauges within the next month
my question is, is it a good idea for them to tune it and up the boost to around 8 psi and will the 440cc injectors be able to handle it. It is a daily driver during the summer but during the school year its stored.
and if i do adjust the boost, is it controlled through the ECU or a bigger spring
thanks guys for any help

the 440's are fine, if i am not mistaken they are good up to 14-16psi of boost, besides your tuner will know if they are about to reach their limit. if you are going to keep it as a daily driver dont go boost happy and go over 10-11psi.lol just make sure you get a real wideband so that you can keep a look out for lean mixtures and a boost gauge so that you dont over boost.

hey thanks for the responces guys
with the ultimate i know you can run two maps and switch between them with a toggle switch. ive heard people talk about it on here but bever never really seen anyone use the switch. if i had the tuner make and save one map for 8PSI and a second map for 12PSI and i didnt have the toggle switch, can myself just hook it up to a computer and switch it between the two?
also i have stock internals and really dont want to push the engine block to hard. what are the stock internal good up to? 16psi?

dont go by what people say that the motor holds, the truth is that no engine is that same. some say 16-18psi the key is that tune boost does not blow engines bad supporting mods do, lke bad tuneing, bad head gasket blown turbo, too much fuel to lean etc. youll never know the limit of oyur motor until it blows. my advise stay on the rich side and dont go past 12-14psi. youll be good as long as you have a good fuel and ignition tune.
ok the dual maps.....on the front of your emanage there are 4 dip switches......the way people are doing it is in the program you have injector adjustment maps one and two.....and ignition maps one and two....in the parameter settings you tell the emanage what the dip switches control and on the front you just flip the switch to whatever you want....not sure if i explained it good but if not ill try to get some pictures if you need em
your tuner can tell you better then me because he can show you hands on....unfortunately i cant...just ask your tuner to walk you through it and im sure he will be happy to
ohhh ok, that explains alot. i thought that was something else but ok.
well what i think im going to do then is (depending on cost) get one map for daily driving, maybe 8psi then a more aggressive tune of around 12psi.

what you should do is just get a boost controller and tune to 12 psi anyway...then all you have to do is touch a button on the boost controller and boom....its on my list of things to get
