On ZPI's website go to the stage 0 dyno video. They show the boost gauge on the vent. I think it's very slick and it doesn't scream 'I WANT TO RACE' to every car that passes you on the high-way. I remember the day I finished my A-pillar install with the glow-gauges. I went to the high-way to test and not even a minute went by and a new style tiburon lined up next to me and started reving the engine.

Hey, I found that video of the tC with the air vent guage on You Tube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYdNgrT8Xtw
That's not rhythmnsmoke. It said the author was burninskulls0911, and there is a scionlife member with that name, but it doesn't look like the same car.
But you could probably shoot him a PM and ask him about the gauge in the video.

Now, about your zeitronix...that thing looks PERFECT!
Which attachments did you need to purchase with it?
Did you install it yourself, and if so, how hard was it?
How it is viewing it down there for Boost level?

viewing is great on the zeitronix. now keep in mind your not gonna be starring at the gauge, its for quick glancing to make sure everything is good. it is stupid easy to install. i bought the zt2 kit, the boost sensor and the egt probe. just gotta get the bungs welded and its 3 wires for the boost sensor, the afr sensor plugs in via ethernet cable, the egt plugs in via small connector, and you tap the throttle, rpm power and ground wires. install takes around 1 hour taking your time. want photos of mine? it sits perfect in the cubby

HELL YEAH! I'd love to see some pics.
I'm getting a basic kit soon, no emanage needed at first, so this seems perfect.
After a while, i'm going to get an aftermarket stereo so I can get the 3 gauge pod that fits in a single stereo din. I don't need to be flashing my gauges to everyone either.
how much did it cost to get welded, and does it matter where the bung goes?
What turbo kit are you running, by the way?

Oh, one more thing. Would you say the boost guage on that is as good as a stand alone boost meeter in the air vent area?

by the way, it is not taped, it is not glued, nothing. it is slight pressed into place. it fits perfect right there and even when i stomp the gas it doesnt move. perfect spot.

my local shop molded mine into the center console... i bet if you got a single gauge pod you could mold it right in there... you might think it is "rice"... i'll let the pics speak... oh and the fitment may look off but its just the CF panel in my cubby hole messing everything up.

before paint...

looks good, but im looking for something that i can directly put back to factory. as you notice with all of my customs that i have the ability to directly unbolt and rebolt my factory items back up to the car. i have only drilled minimal holes and nothing out in the open. the only thing that would have to stay is the headlights since i modified the stockies..

In regards to this comment... With that molded dash setup he did, you can still go back to factory. They sell that center plastic console peice for about $81. I've made 3-4 different ones now so feel free to get creative with those things and know that you can still easilly put a stockie back in there.

www.burtonpower.com has one but they are in the UK, and its universal. I think ZPI was considering manufacturing one at some point you might contact them.
There was a post about it somewhere on ScionLife.

Honestly though it seems to me like it would be easiest to just pop the stock vent out and cut something to fit. Plexiglass is really easy to work with, and IMO looks alright if you either A. Dye it with Rit dye (really easy, and yes, they have black. It gives it a smoked look depending on how long you leave it in the dye.), or B. paint the back side so it doesnt scratch.

I think there is also someone who sells that plastic that looks like our dash in sheets(rice paper texture or whatever they call it), but i cant remember who. Anyways, good luck with whatever ya decide.

as much as i love my vents... the heating sucks now. I think steering away from the vents is a bright idea unless ur fine with with windows down or a nice warm coat.

You are probably right... but the beauty of custom stuff is if ya can find a way to keep the airflow alright.... go for it... maybe just as simple as cutting a few slots around the gauge.... but you will get more airflow from the other vents if ya close one off so if you are the only one in the car turn the center vent towards yourself lol.... i honestly usually close the drivers side vent personally... seems like no matter how i point it, it dries out my contacts... id hate to close off the center vents though they seem to move so much more air than the side ones.

OK, I only found a couple post about gauge pods, so I'll post up in this one again:

I was wondering why no one had gotten the triple pod for a double din under an aftermarket stereo.
I got my Kenwood and got my install kit and looked at the harness and realized the space below the stereo is way to small for gauges!
Is that right? Am I not going to be able to mound my gauges under my aftermarket stereo? Please say it aint so!

What triple gauge pods are you all using for the dash? I dont' want mine on the piller.
