A question for you tc supercharger owners!!
here is the thing, i would get the header done BEFORE the supercharger is installed, because otherwise you might have to remove the supercharger to fit the header in. because of that, if something does go wrong, the dealer can say something like, the removal and re-installation of the header is what caused your problem if one does arise later on.
now, there is some concern about the heat from the exhaust header harming the supercharger, and to eliminate that potential problem area, i am getting my header coated to reduce the heat output of it. i might also wrap it for even more security, but that should reduce that problem area since the heat guard won't fit over a non stock header.

I should have gotten the header coated, even with the heat wrap, heatsoak is still an issue. I don't think it gets hott enough to dry up the oil in the shaft though. Just in case im trying to cover the shaft of the s/c with some sort of cooling wrap.

drax... 10% off? How did you manage that? you got me thinking about which coating I should do know... especially after you mentioned the extreme sterling is best for low boost turbo/supercharger applications.
yea, well i was gonna buy the header and just put it in like next month, then sometim e around july get the supercharger, but i was only gonna wrap it, but i think i should coat it, how do you like the weapon header?

Technical benefits for the 1300 Sterling are as follows: Looks great, reduces under-hood temperatures by 50 degrees Fahrenheit and more, keepspipes about 300ºF cooler, gives you 1-3% extra horsepower, extends averageheader life by at least 10 times, and improves safety in an accident byreducing the probability of fire-balling. It is also very easy to keepclean. If you use one of the other 1300 colors, they perform as well, butare not as cleanable. I will send you our full information package to getyou all the coating benefits in greater detail. If you upgrade to the EXTREME STERLING you get a coating that will stayshiny 200ºF higher than Sterling, and take a maximum temperature of 1700ºF,though it does have an orange-peel texture compared to 1300 Sterling. Itwill also provide an estimated 100ºF more of insulation and carries a 5 yearwarranty. It is recommended for low boost turbo and supercharged vehicles, and lean running EFI cars. Cost is $50 more, and takes an extra 2-3 days toprocess. Finally we offer JET-HOT 2000. It does not provide as much insulation as the1300 Sterling, but this coating can take temperatures up to 2400 degrees. The 2000 only comes in a flat black, blue or grey finish and has a roughtexture on the outside(like 150 grit sandpaper). The Jet Hot 2000 runs $100more than the sterling silver finish. This coating takes 2 days longer thanthe sterling silver process. We suggest JET-HOT 2000 for set ups with largeshots of nitrous, high boost turbo and superchargers, motorhomes and towingvehicles.

look at their site, email them for estimate or call them up, get a customer id, ship to their nearest facility with your instructions for what you would like them to coat it with, they will call you for a credit card for billing, and ship it back to you, install and enjoy.
