I tried searching for this but didnt really come up with much. How many of you guys are running a Recirculating BOV setup on your tC's? Are they really needed or does the car still run well without doing so?
Thanks.
Thanks.
mine isn't recirculated. car still runs fine. had some rough times. i'm considering having the intake plumbing re-worked to be a blow-thru set-up for smoother operation, but it still works well enough for daily driving and autocross.

Ok that was my main concern. This will be my DD and I want to it to run as clost to stock as possible. I was just seeing if I should really worry about it or not.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Thanks for the pic man, I will see how I feel when I get everything installed. IF it runs like crap I will definately do the recirculating. How does it affect the sound of the BOV?
It muffles the sound a good bit depending on where it enters the intake pipe and if you are are running an open element filter or the stock air box. I ran re-circ for over a year on my Turbonetics kit and recently I got bored and tried it without re-circ, no difference in drivability. It's just louder. That's it. However, most of that is in the tune.
Mine went rich when re-circulated anyways. Central Florida Turbo said, "it cannot be done with the F/IC". Heh, another example of their "expertise". Then again, they couldn't tune my car after 5 dyno tunes and 3 street tuning sessions so that it wouldn't fall on it's face below 10 AFR during partial throttle and bottomed out my rich side of my UEGO when WOT. M-Tuning is the way to go!
Anyways, back on topic. If I were to reset my ECU, then maybe it might stall once or twice before it re-learns how to adjust. As it sits now, it doesn't even stumble or drop below 800 RPM's when I put the clutch in after full boost.

The recirc is not required for the most part. Been doing pull through MAFs since 2005 on these. Does it help some, yes. Is it required, no.
Also this depends heavily on the MAF location and engine management. Some engine managements are good at dealing with DFCO, while others are teh suxorz at it.
For example, had stalling with the E-manage, but programmed the anti-stall, fixed.
No stalling at all with the APR unit. EVER
