i was real happy with the way my clutch/flywheel is but you just have to change the way your foot goes on/off your clutch

Sounds like if you get the S/C you live at the dealership. Does anyone have a newer one yet?

I'm still on my original supercharger that was put on in November of '05. No problems and I have over 55k miles on the ODO, 45k of them supercharged. I had the dealership leave the heat shield off the car when they installed the s/c. The Megan header went in almost 10k miles ago and put header wrap on it shortly after.

its not that but with any FI you might be there a few times and you might not . There are a ton of people that have no problems and there are some people who have some issues. You are reading about the problems on the forum because people are posting them. The people who have no problems aren't starting threads saying "i have no problems please lock this thread because there is nothing to talk about" hehe.

How do you not see a supercharger breaking as a major issue? Doesnt get more major than that.
Well to me I'd rather have a blown s/c versus a blow engine.. I guess I just don't see it as major since I have personally had major issues with being boosted in other cars I own, which blew the motor and turbo then 13k later it was back on the road.

^ and that is exactly what im saying - trd is covering your s/c if you dont mod it. If you dont have a lot of $$ ....dont mod it ...get your 200hp car ....and any problems you can bring it back. You will still be able to get an spipe back exhaust, new clutch (if you want), light flywheel, and light crank pulley ..... those mods in the first 2 years of your car will keep you safe ...then you can do whatever you want after.

Read my previous post. Seeing that i have an '07, i guess i have the 2nd gen S/C. The only problem I have had related to a bad part that was already on the engine, not caused by the S/C. I have had zero probelms with the S/C itself

I still think some of it has to do with the install. Toyota didn't train anyone how to install one, and most of the techs are basically only qualified to rotate tires, lube, and change oil. I wouldn't want a trigger-happy, impact wrench-toting kid to touch the s/c.

I do agree that the s/c could have been built better with higher quality parts though.

^ talk to the dealers around you and ask how many have installed the tundra s/c or tc s/c - I know the tundra is a roots system but atleast if they have done those then the install guy has a clue how a s/c works

I guess I was lucky. The guy at my dealership went to the Toyota USA corporate headquarters to learn how to install both the tC and Tundra S/Cs

I should leave this to the people who know what they are talking about, but I do know they had to re-do how the S/C was integrated into the engine. Also, I believe the mounts changed at the same time, since the old ones used to crack
