Default So.. what is the best exhuast to use on a turbocharged tC?

I'm looking for an exhaust that will give the most gains, but is also quiet! Not loud at all... What do you reccomend I do?

Right now, im looking to get the 07 greddy kit when it comes out for my auto tc, but I don't want to run it on stock exhaust

However, I was thinking I could keep the stock exhaust and just add an electric cutout on it ( after 2nd cat, or maybe even straight pipe through the cat and cutout there)... my only concern about this is, will the stock exhaust do more than just rob potential power to the wheels? like can it damage the turbo because the exhaust gases arent escaping fast enough?

Thanks!

Yes running stock piping anywhere on your setup will result in a loss in power... more power generally equals louder... as far as damage it is possible to see backpressure hurting a turbo but it would have to be a lot of backpressure and unless you're shootin for like 300+ whp i don't think it should be a concern for you... Especially since you're talking about noise and what not I'm assuming this is a dail driver

For example a 4 puck carbon fiber plate clutch common in single turbo supra conversions is aggrivating as all hell and clatters when not engaged but its one of the best options.

When you add a header on our car it gets rasppy.

They key to an exhaust is to maintain a proper temp within the exhaust so that it doesn't cool down and expand resulting in less flow and decreased HP... Anything below 300 whp has been suggested that you stick with 2.5" for optimal gains but if you wish to be a big boy and surpass that its been suggested to go up to 3" piping...

I'd say Dezod, but I haven't heard a sound clip yet. I know ZPI has a little rasp but not nearly as bad as a TRD with a header.

Any turbo kit shouldnt have any rasp at all on any exhaust. I had a Spipe and midpipe both 2.5 inches along with the TRD axel back and it was LOUD. Now full 2.5 catless exhaust and it not near as loud as before when it was n/a.

Electric Cut outs are usually always loud, b/c it's so close to the downpipe. Much like running open downpipe = load.

my advice then is... S pipe of your choice (not opening this thread up to company disputes)... and a mid pipe with a fairly large resonator... resonators reduce sound without reducing a whole lot of airflow and then get your MEgan OE exhaust... then you can get a turbo kit of your choice look stock and hit people before they knnew what was coming

P.S. I always think its a good idea to keep the lower grille in to make the car ultra sneaky
