so who said turbocharging was cheap?
well I decided to go onto Dezod's site and make a list of stuff that I would need to FI my car ans I got
Dezod 07 mt kit which comes out to about 5k
Stage 4 clutch and flywheel- about 700
Boost Gauge-200
AFgauge-300
Dezod spipe back 2.5' exhaust-630
the total on th esite came out to 6879 which was a bit more then I heard was needed to FI a car(by a bit I mean a lot) so basically im lookin at about 8 gs to FI my car and tune it??? lol why do ppl say its cheap to FI a car..? Also I do not mean to bash on Dezod at all...I just used the site to make a list because unlike other places they offer everything you need.......If anyone can plz help me out here..I need to get th estuff I need for cheap w/o buying it used.....the first time I was gonna FI the tc (which I stopped b/c ZPI is longer with us) the total was like 5k i think.....

I know its not easy but ive heard that 5-6k should do the whole job...and my price doesnt include tuning or a boost controller......is there a place where I can buy good but cheap gauges??? any money I can shave off will help ...ty
also am I missing anything?
also am I missing anything?
so far i have dumped off about 6 grand..
TT stage 1 kit w greddy emange and 550cc injectors: 4,300
AEM Tru Boost: 280
AEM Oil Press: 180
AEM UEGO: 260
HKS Type-1 Turbo Timer: 110
2.5 Dezod s-pipe back Turbo exhaust: 780 (shipping to hawaii is sick)
exhaust welding (optional): 160
single gauge cups (3): 80
grand total: $6,150.00
I still have this to purchase:
RTV sealant
that stuff to re-seal my oil pan
welding for my oil return line
teflon tape (not for oil lines!)
5 quarts of synthetic motor oil
oil filter
comp clutch stage 4 and lightend flywheel
TUNING and DYNO TIME
any misc. stuff that doesnt come with the kit and hidden costs
grand total: ALOT????
so id say im easily looking at adding another 3 grand to my 6,150 making it jsut under 10,000.00 mother flcuking dollars..
no one ever said it was cheap thats a guarentee..
there are cheaper routes though.. like aem.. hes going all custom and hasnt even cracked 4 grand yet.. but he has had more hassels than others.. its all up to you.. just make sure you dont exceed your spending limit.. have money left over for that:
"WTF, HOLY SHIRT, DAMN, DID YOU SEE THAT, DID YOU HEAR THAT"
everyones heard those! haha this post is to long already..

Little lost on the pricing... as im going to turbo within the next 3 months also.
I am going for the treadstone kit most likely though which is only 3k on its own.
Dezod 07+ mt kit = 4365
Clutch = 400 flywheel not needed that is just your pref
Boost gauge = 60-100 (dont need too fancy for boost)
AF gauge = 260
Catback = tons out there under 600... tsudo = 220 but lets just say a decent one for ~450 (dont worry about used exhausts either)
TOTAL: Around 5550 Thats some difference from your original 6879 you can even still throw in a flywheel if you must and be under 6k
If you havnt yet ordered, i think you should take a look around other sites, some used items, the sponsored for sale thread, etc...

i don't think anybody said it was cheap, i think the consensus was that turbo versus supercharging had a better dollar to whp ratio, because the supercharger was about $4100 installed for 40-50 whp, when a turbocharger, plus peripheral equipment and installation and tune for about $6000 yielded about 100+ whp, and was way faster than the supercharger could ever be.
but now the supercharger is under $2000 for the 05-06, and like $2900 for the 07-08. so the cost per whp has shifted. alittle. more whp for your money, plus a warranty.

No way cheap

ok so whats the best sounding and priced 2.5' turbo back (or catback if it can be run with 290whp without back pressure) exhaust I can get??? also are these gauges any good?? I saw this one for like 34 bux lol what a price.
http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/index...ROD&ProdID=326
and hows this boost gauge?
http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/index...ROD&ProdID=304
(is it a A/F gauge too? how does that work?)
well thnx and wont the flywheel help me make more whp??? if I dont run a flywheel is it safe with all of that tq???
and whats a good and reliable AF gauge?? ty
and also where do I get one of those gauge pillars on the center of the tc dash?? plz answer all my questions and help me out lol I need it lol...

flywheel has nothing to do with whp or power, or power handling capability. the weight of the flywheel gives it different characteristics.
lighter means it revs faster so the engine can spool up quicker and reduce turbo lag, but has less momentum so it is alittle slower off the line, engine braking is reduced, but th reduction in rotational mass frees up alittle engine power.
heavier means it is slower to rev, but the increased mass means there is more momentum to transfer when you engage the clutch so it can jump off the line quicker.
i have a light weight flywheel, makes it harder to move away from a stop because it is easier to stall in first gear, but i have finially gotten used to it. and it has also gotten alot easier to rev match my downshifts and when i'm changing gears for a turn. and on the road, it feels like the car has alittle more pull, but that is probably just alittle butt dyno feeling.

oh, and a flywheel isn't necessary, but it is a very good upgrade to invest in, especially since your going to have to get a stonger clutch, you might as well upgrade the flywheel because it is already right there when your changing the clutch. save yourself on the labor and do it then like i did.
i did clutch, flywheel, and lsd in one single installation. saved a decent amount on the installation doing it all at once.

I recommend you invest on good a/f gauges like AEM UEGO, i dont think glowshift will be that bad for oil pressure and boost gauge, try also autometer.. do sme search there's a lot.. try blue defi gauges too, i love their look. Catback is up to you, check some sound clips.. You cant go wrong with dezod.. tsudo isnt bad if you're on a budget, 2.5" piping will be right for you.
I dunno man I don't think I would cheap out on the gauges honestly that's your lifeline to the motor. But on the other hand I would not recommend the AEM Digital Oil Pressure Gauge. Mine acts funky every once in a while and trips me out lol...
i dont like the canister shape of tsudo's exhaust...lol i like the way the magnaflow catback looks and sounds....it sux though cuz its a 2.25...but ya dezod's does look like magnalfow more than tsudo....it sux tho cuz it costs a sh!tload for an exhaust...is it a catback?
^^ to not to cheap out would be best.. but a cheap one is better than nothing at least it gives you an idea where you are even if its not accurate.. AEM oil pressure acts funny? can you give details? im planning to buy one.. anybody had issues with ther's?
You gotta pay to play man, that the rules of the game. Also consider this. You spend that money on it and then something happens to the motor, thats another 5-10k you will be shelling out for as well. Don't skimp out on things, it'll bite you in the a$$ if you do.
if you want to save a few bucks buy a Greddy kit you should be able to make 350whp and a pretty reliable kit. might not be a bad idea to buy 550cc injectors and a Aem F/ic for your fuel ems. but if your not going to get tuned one of the Emanage's will work well too.
